Contract: PermanentSalary: Offering a salary of up to £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, along with a company van and fuel card.We are currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical and Electrical Technician to join our team at Bracknell Sewage Treatment Works, RG42 5AS. As the successful candidate, you will ensure that all equipment at our sewage treatment works is running safely and efficiently using proactive and reactive maintenance methods. You will inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify or repair electrical and mechanical plant and equipment. Working within the maintenance team, you will follow robust planned maintenance, getting involved in minor installation projects, electrical fault finding, and emergency breakdown repairs to ensure our plant operates all year round. What you’ll be doing as the Mechanical & Electrical Technician • Carrying out scheduled planned maintenance work on mechanical and electrical equipment in compliance with company procedures to minimise plant breakdowns., • You will investigate plant failures and carry out repairs as quickly and efficiently as possible to avoid interruptions to the process. This may involve investigating and diagnosing complex faults and carrying out repairs during incidents., • Examples of equipment that you will be working on will be various pumps and associated control gear, 3-phase motors, starters and controls, electronic control systems such as VSDs, automatic valves and penstocks, flow, level and pressure measurement, programmable logic controllers, variable speed drives and controls, and chemical handling and dosing equipment., • To be a time-served apprentice with an NVQ or C&G level 3 in mechanical and electrical qualifications., • Experience working on large industrial plant equipment, including various pumps within the utility industry, would be beneficial. It would suit mechanical maintenance/service engineers or mechanics from any industry., • The 18th Edition would be beneficial, but not a requirement; however, one must be willing to obtain it during probation., • Knowledge and awareness of health and safety issues are essential., • The work will require physical fitness as you will work in manual handling and often in physically demanding roles., • Be able to work in restricted areas., • Competitive salary up to £45,000 per annum, depending on skills and experience., • Standby rota payments & Overtime opportunities can increase this earning potential by up to a further £8,000-£10,000 per annum upon completion of essential company training., • Contributory pension – Defined Contribution - Maximum of 12% -2x employee contribution., • Annual Leave: 24 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 with the length of service.
