Job Type: Full time We have an exciting opportunity for an Indirect Tax Manager to join our team within Vistry Services, at our Milton Keynes office. As our Indirect Tax Manager, you will ensure that our filings are both robust and technically accurate, and to review and implement process and tax efficiency savings across VAT, SDLT and CIS by actively working as a business partner to the regions on all land related activities. You will be responsible for the technical review of VAT returns, escalating complex issues, feeding into the VAT compliance process. The Indirect Tax Manager will ensure that the VAT and CIS reconciliations are reviewed monthly and outstanding items are followed up by the team periodically and business partnering with the various regions across the Group on a regular basis to discuss current issues and resolve reconciling items. We encourage you to raise any specific requirements during the interview process so we can explore how this could be accommodated. • Competitive basic salary and annual bonus, • Company car, car allowance or travel allowance, • Salary sacrifice car scheme available to all employees, • Up to 39 days annual leave plus bank holidays, • 2 Volunteering days per annum, • Private medical insurance, with employee paid cover, • Enhanced maternity, paternity and adoption leave, • Competitive pension scheme through salary sacrifice, • Life assurance at 4 x your annual salary, • Share save and share incentive schemes, • Christmas company shutdown, • Employee rewards portal with many more benefits…, • Behave in line with our company values – Integrity, Caring and Quality, • CTA qualified or equivalent (ACA, ACCA) with proven experience in an Indirect Tax role, • Indirect Tax advisory experience in relation to Land and Property, • Knowledge of other taxes such as SDLT and/or Employment Taxes would be a bonus but not essential, • You will have proven post-qualification experience preferably in practice but will consider individuals from Industry, • A good knowledge and understanding of tax risk and controls, • The ability to guide, develop and manage colleagues in the tax department, • Experience within the Construction or House Building sector would be an advantage but is not essential, • Personable and able to build relationships across the business at all levels, • You have excellent communication skills and attention to detail, • You feel comfortable with communicating at all levels, • You will need to demonstrate behaviours necessary to align with our corporate values, • You will have an understanding and willingness to commit to extra work that may be necessary from time to time to meet deadlines as and when business needs require it, • Support the Group Tax Director and Head of Indirect Tax in advising on VAT and SDLT implications for land transactions, including acquisitions and disposals., • Provide tax guidance to regional offices across the Group, including VAT, SDLT and CIS., • Ensure all compliance filings are robust, accurate and technically sound., • Prepare the Group’s Partial Exemption Special Method calculations and annual adjustments., • Conduct technical reviews of VAT returns, resolving and escalating complex issues., • Oversee monthly VAT and CIS reconciliations, ensuring outstanding items are monitored and followed up by the team., • Oversee the VAT compliance process and provide support to team members., • Work with the Head of Indirect Tax to ensure accounting systems and processes remain technically up to date., • Support in preparing responses to HMRC and external auditor queries., • Contribute to SAO assurance processes across VAT, SDLT and CIS., • Support delivery of technical tax training across the Group., • Manage Group VAT and CIS registrations, options to tax, and maintain an accurate internal tax registrations database.
