J800010151 \n Paediatric Occupational Therapist Permanent (5/6/7) \n Location: Surrey \n Salary: Negotiable \n Hours: Full time \n Client Based: services to children \n Sponsor available depending on Experience \n \n Our well-known client has a fantastic permanent Paediatric Occupational Therapist vacancy in their clinic. To provide specialist occupational therapy services to children 0-16 years at their clinic. Children \n may present with a variety of diagnoses including Sensory Processing Disorder, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, Dyspraxia, Cerebral Palsy, Dyslexia, Speech and Language delay/disorders, global developmental delay, or neurological disorders. \n \n Job Role: \n \n -To be responsible as an autonomous practitioner to undertake a clinical workload. \n -To undertake assessments of children, using both standardised and informal assessment tools. \n -To demonstrate developing clinical reasoning and ability to interpret assessment data and write clinical assessment reports. \n -To devise child/family centred treatment plans through use of goal attainment scaling, considering a wide range of treatment techniques, grading activities to ensure that the individual’s full potential is developed or maintained. \n -To conduct 1:1 and small group treatment sessions in clinic. \n -To provide a high standard of clinical record keeping. \n -To provide an effective high-quality service to all children and families. \n -To communicate effectively with the multi-disciplinary team to promote the safety of children and the management of risk. \n \n Requirement: \n \n Qualification: \n -Recognised Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy \n -Health Professions Council – Licence to Practice (HCPC) \n -Evidence of successful completion of a range of other short courses at postgraduate level \n -Evidence of attendance at other specialist course relevant to paediatrics \n \n Experience: \n \n -Clinical experience of wide range of paediatric work in clinical or educational settings \n -Co-ordination of intervention planning in paediatrics \n -Clinical experience of working with children with a wide range of needs including Autistic Spectrum disorders, Dyspraxia, Sensory Processing Disorder and neurological disorders. \n \n KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES \n \n -Excellent interpersonal skills – including observation, listening and empathy skills e.g., breaking bad news or explaining upsetting conditions to patients / families \n -Demonstrates excellent analytical and reflection skills at clinical levels \n -Well-developed concentration skills and ability to multi-task, and work with frequent interruptions of complex nature \n -Excellent presentation skills, both verbal and written, of complex information to other professionals \n -Demonstrates high level of computer literacy to enable effective data collection, report and document writing \n -Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills \n -Demonstrates ability to be a good team member \n -Able to synthesise and present complex information at a service level \n -Knowledge of the principles of clinical governance /audit \n -Understanding of the roles of other professionals \n -Ability to work with the diverse needs of clients with complex communication difficulties \n -Well established knowledge of a broad range of assessment tools relevant to the specialist client group \n -Knowledge of a range of appropriate therapeutic interventions and an ability to compare and contrast relative benefits and outcomes \n
