Food & Beverage Assistant (Bar) - Roehampton, London Hours: 40 hours per week Reporting to: Bar Manager Job Purpose: To participate in the day-to-day operation of the Food and Beverage department with the focus on the bar operation. Key Responsibilities: • To create 100% member satisfaction through providing a ‘yes I can’ attitude and exceeding members expectations, • To follow the 8 steps of service training to ensure 100%-member satisfaction in Food & Beverage service, • To ensure adherence to set standards for all Food & Beverage service, • To follow and complete cleaning schedule as requested to ensure all storerooms, corridors and the bar area are kept to the highest of standards, • To learn and understand the food and drinks we are serving to be able to talk to Members about the products and to ‘Upsell’ as and when possible, • To set-up and refresh when necessary, the Members bar, piano bar, function rooms or any other areas as required, • Adhere to opening and closing procedures when on the rota for those shifts, • To handle cash and take payments for goods in accordance with club procedures, • Ensure Members follow the Members bar rules & regulations or ensure a senior member of the team is aware of any breaches, • Duties required for the smooth running of the bar – stocking up, stock rotation, beer line cleaning, pre / post service preparation, • To ensure you adhere to all legislative and company fire, health & safety and security guidelines, • To attend daily pre-shift meetings to discuss the day’s upcoming events in detail, special requests, and product development, • To ensure the correct uniform and name badge are worn at all times, • To actively participate in departmental meetings While full training will be given the ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and competencies: • Trustworthy & reliable, • Experience in an events environment is desirable but not essential, • Ability to use your own initiative, • Good customer care skills including respecting internal external customers, • Excellent attention to detail, • Strong team player & good communicator, • Good time management skills, • Staff Fund of £550 paid twice yearly after qualifying period, • 30 days annual leave (including bank holiday plus 2 additional life leave per annum), • Lieu time for time worked over contracted hours, • Meal whilst on duty, • Generous staff referral scheme, • Generous company pension matching up to 15% after a qualifying period, • On site parking, • Use of Club’s facilities on working day following qualifying period, • Staff classes including tennis, golf, pickleball, Art, • Employee Assistance Program and mental health support, • Staff events, • Death in Service of 4 x salary, • Ongoing training and development
