Key duties include: • Opening the school each morning and securing the site at the end of the day, • Carrying out security checks during opening and closing procedures, • Completing minor repairs and general maintenance (e.g. painting, basic plumbing, fixing furniture), • Reporting and monitoring more significant maintenance issues, • Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, • Conducting regular site inspections and risk checks, • Maintaining safe access routes, particularly during poor weather, • Receiving and distributing deliveries around the school, • Assisting with moving furniture and equipment, • Supporting cleanliness of indoor and outdoor areas, • Assisting with waste management and recycling, • Setting up rooms for events, assemblies, and examinations Essential: • Previous caretaking, maintenance, or site experience, • Practical DIY and repair skills, • Ability to work split shifts (early mornings and afternoons/evenings), • Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently, • Experience working in a school environment, • Knowledge of site security systems (alarms, key holding), • Flexibility is required due to split shift working patterns
