You will be joining our core team to bring our innovation to market, overseeing the deployments of our first brewery systems and building a manufacturing blueprint for every unit that follows. \n About Future Greens \n Anaerobic digestion has existed for decades, but conventional systems are too big and expensive to fit next to food and drink factories, making it unfeasible to turn their waste into biogas. We’ve developed a faster anaerobic digestion process designed to reduce the space needed for on-site waste treatment and biogas production. This enables food factories to cut their waste costs and reduce their reliance on fossil-derived natural gas. \n We're starting with breweries that have concentrated waste streams and a high gas demand. Permanent Our client is seeking a Lead Platform Engineer to join an innovative technology business developing agentic AI solutions for the UK lettings and estate agency sector. This permanent, full-time role offers the opportunity to lead platform development, build scalable systems and shape how engineering teams use AI in a fast-paced environment. The role is available from a London office or remotely.Key Responsibilities:Architect, design and build scalable backend systems and RESTful APIs from initial concept through to production.Develop and maintain microservice and event-driven architectures supporting real-time operational workflows.Lead a small team of engineers, supporting delivery, reviewing code and maintaining a high technical standard.Set best practice for agentic AI development, including the use of Claude Code, LLMs and AI-powered engineering workflows.Contribute to technical strategy, architecture decisions and long-term platform planning alongside the Head of Engineering.Maintain secure, performant and reliable systems, services and data pipelines as the platform scales.Work closely with product teams to understand lettings workflows and develop technology that solves meaningful operational challenges.Drive technical improvements that support dependable delivery, quality assurance and continuous innovation.Job Requirements:Significant hands-on software engineering experience, ideally within AI, SaaS, automation or other technology platforms.Strong expertise in Node.js and NestJS, with experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservice-based systems.Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).Experience with API testing, automated testing and maintaining high standards of software quality.Understanding of agentic AI, large language models and the challenges of operating AI pipelines at scale.Experience with event-driven systems, secure data pipelines and cloud-native application development.Knowledge of Next.js and frontend development would be advantageous.Experience working with technologies such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB and vector databases such as Qdrant.Ability to lead engineers while remaining a highly capable hands-on builder and technical decision-maker.Degree-level education in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related discipline.What the Role Offers:Significant technical ownership from the outset, with the opportunity to influence architecture and engineering standards.Direct collaboration with senior leadership and access to strategic product and technology decisions.Flexible working from a London office or remotely.Opportunity to work at the forefront of agentic AI and automation within the property technology sector.Leadership responsibility within a small, ambitious and technically focused team.Scope to shape scalable systems used across the UK lettings and estate agency market. xrnqpay This is an excellent opportunity for a Lead Platform Engineer who enjoys solving complex technical problems, leading from the front and building AI-enabled systems from the ground up.
