There is a preference for and experienced bar bender / machine operator, (including PEDAX and Linkbender machine operations), but training would be invested in the right individual who may not possess industry experience, but is hardworking, has a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. JOB PURPOSE: The Cannon Steels reinforcement team are responsible for the manufacture of cut and bent reinforcement products based on specific customer requirements. Orders would be passed to the rebar team via the foreman / line manager on an express basis (meaning orders are delivered to our customers within 2 – 3 days). The successful candidate would be an important member of this team. The job will focus on the use of manual bending machines (for the production of cut and ben rebar) but the job will also include other tasks throughout the day such as the loading and unloading of our own vehicles and incoming stock via the use of a portal crane. It is vital that the candidate can work well as a team especially during busy periods when customer vehicles may be being loaded whilst other work is taking place. The job will be based within our reinforcement yard which has minimal cover, so be prepared to work outside in all weathers. You will report into your line manager (rebar foreman) on a daily basis, and paid overtime may be required during busy periods (such as evening loading of our vehicles). The role will include tasks such as: • Bending reinforcement steel using manual machines. • Use of a PEDAX shearline machine. • Use of a Twinmaster Linkbender machine. • Use of a manual cutting machine. • Operating DEMAG portal crane. • The safe loading and unloading of lorries. • Cutting mesh sheets with manual grinder. • Manual lifting / handling of steel and reinforcement accessories. • Daily health and safety checks and machine maintenance / first off checks. I'm looking for someone to run one of my stockrooms based in Bristol BS14 Hengrove. Role will include the following - Moderate lifting 20kg boxes. Taking receipt of orders usually arrives on a pallet. Unpack goods from boxes and repack into bags. Sorting out spares. Flatten cardboard and other packaging. Tidy and organise stockroom. I need someone who is a quick learner and able to work by themselves effectively. Ideally someone who has done similar roles before. Work schedule is pretty flexible, as long as everything is packed out efficiently and on time. Hours vary but approx 10-15 hrs per week so with that said this role would suit someone who already has a job and needs a little top up. From previous experience this job is ideally suited to someone who is semi retired/part time or looking for a little spare cash.
