PE Global is currently recruiting a Supplier Development Engineer for our global manufacturing client supporting some of the world’s largest mining equipment programmes. This role is based fully onsite in Peterlee with approximately 10% travel. This is an initial 12 month contract position based on site 5 days a week. Pay Rate is £34.30ph PAYE or £46.35ph Umbrella. Responsibilities: • Assess supplier quality and ensure materials and components meet manufacturing specifications and regulatory standards., • Conduct supplier audits and quality assessments to evaluate manufacturing processes, procedures, and environments., • Monitor supplier defect rates and quality metrics, identifying trends and improvement opportunities., • Support suppliers in improving performance through process enhancements, quality assurance planning, and process controls., • Develop and implement supplier inspection, testing, and evaluation mechanisms., • Conduct supplier quality control audits to ensure compliance with organisational and regulatory standards., • Work closely with suppliers to identify root causes of quality issues and implement corrective actions., • Contribute to supplier capability development to support production of high-performance industrial equipment. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering or a related discipline., • Experience working within industrial manufacturing environments., • Strong understanding of supplier quality, manufacturing processes, and process improvement., • Experience with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) and supplier quality methodologies., • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills., • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills., • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 tools, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Additional Information: • 12 month contract with strong likelihood of extension, • Working hours: Monday – Thursday: 7:00am – 3:00pm, Friday: 7:00am – 12:00pm, • 10% travel required, • Interview process: One-stage Teams interview (approx. 60 minutes) Interested candidates should submit an updated CV to be considered.
