Following the recent acquisition of Littlewood Group, the largest independent fencing company in the UK, Network Plus is strengthening its commercial capability to support continued growth across its portfolio. As part of this growth, we are now looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor and Quantity Surveyor to play a key role in supporting the commercial success of these expanding operations. Our Role As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will support the Commercial Manager; helping to drive efficiencies; managing costs and regional performance for our clients. This role will see you take control of all financial aspects of the project, overseeing all commercial & contractual matters. You will deliver desired margin return utilising high standards of commercial acumen. Whilst identifying, recording and tracking, both risks and opportunities. • Monitoring project expenditure against tender figures and also value recovery., • Identifying and dealing with change, including maximising opportunity., • Following contractual procedures and ensuring that correct notices are given., • Ensuring that correct records (i.e. allocation sheets etc.) are being maintained on all contracts., • Preparing applications and keeping records of amounts applied for on each contract., • Tracking payments received and following up on payment shortfalls., • Understanding the scope of works on each contract., • Pricing of additional and varied works on contracts., • Discussing and negotiating final accounts with clients., • Monthly reporting., • Reading and analysing contracts for onerous or unusual provisions and relaying details/obligations to operational team., • Collating and managing work pipeline and status of existing contracts., • Generally providing commercial support and advice to colleagues., • Undertaking any other tasks advised by your line manager to perform your duties., • Commercial experience in a construction business environment., • Experience of working with estimating and/or contract management teams., • Ability to effectively communicate with and relate to clients and office staff at all levels (in writing and orally)., • Strong numeracy skills and comfort with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint to produce clear and concise reports for clients and staff., • Ability to work independently or as part of a team and manage time effectively. Our client, an accountancy practice in Bexhill, is seeking an Accounts Assistant to join their office on a part-time basis. Duties & Responsibilities • Prepare service charge accounts - collate records from managing agents and self-managed blocks, ensuring all expenditure is correctly allocated to the appropriate schedule or cost category. • Review junior/trainee work - check accuracy of accounts prepared by trainees before issuing drafts to clients for approval and adjustment requests. • Produce dormant company accounts - prepare and submit dormant company accounts using IRIS software, ensuring compliance and timely filing. • Prepare draft accounts - compile complete draft sets of service charge accounts in Excel, ready for client review. • Verify invoices - check that all invoices relate to the correct client, are addressed properly, and are suitable for inclusion in the accounts. • Manage high-volume workload - support a range of service charge jobs and accounting jobs, including company accounts and trust tax work. • Prepare trust tax returns - identify blocks requiring trust tax returns and prepare the relevant trust tax accounts. • Support client communication - gradually take on direct client liaison as experience grows, ensuring clear communication and professional service delivery. • Assist with portfolio management - support the manager with their growing portfolio and help manage increasing client demand. • Support workflow improvements - contribute to efficient working practices as the team grows and wins additional clients. Requirements • Confident user of Microsoft Excel is a must. • Three plus years’ of experience in accountancy and basic bookkeeping knowledge. • Good attention to detail and accuracy. • Ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines. • Good written and verbal communication skills. • Minimum 5 GCSES A-C grade, including Maths and English. • Reliable, organised, and punctual. • Professional manner and strong work ethic. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Positive attitude and willingness to take instruction. • Experience on IRIS is desirable. • AAT qualified is desirable. • Experience with service charge accounts is desirable but specific training will be provided.
