NHS Lanarkshire is comprised of Acute Services (which currently provide hospital based services over 3 main sites), Corporate & Property & Support Services, North and South Lanarkshire Health and Social Care Partnerships which provide integrated primary healthcare and social care services to local communities and surrounding areas. • Professional and clinical lead for all nursing services, within area of responsibility and designated nursing profession specific lead (i.e. Public Health, Long-term Conditions, Mental Health and Learning Disability Nursing) as required across NHS Lanarkshire., • Expert practitioner, providing professional leadership, support and advice within the multi-disciplinary team across NHS Lanarkshire to ensure high standards of nursing care., • Lead the development and implementation of a programme of clinical audit and research activity within the context of clinical governance., • Contribute to the development and operation of nursing/service strategy across NHS Lanarkshire: the major impact of which will be the increase in quality of patient care and service quality., • Strengthen nursing contribution and professional decision making in the development of nursing and interagency partnerships., • Ensure that National nursing policy and strategy is included in the planning and implementation of service redesign/modernisation including partnership agendas., • Provide advice, support, and contribute to the education of staff, as appropriate, within a ward/ service., • Will have line management responsibility when operating as senior manager on call or as part of an organisational delegated service responsibility., • Be influential within area of responsibility and out with when required, on procedural and policy knowledge and provide detailed advice to others., • Provide reports on Consultation Frameworks and documents, • In conjunction with the Associate Nurse Director provide reports to the NMC on professional conduct and fitness to practice., • Support and influence pre and post registration staff that are undertaking further education, • Provide operational line management responsibility for designated Lanarkshire wide services e.g. palliative care, mental health practice development, • Deputise for the Associate Director of Nursing when required, providing professional advice and support to the Divisional Nurse Director on all aspects of the Service, • Assess, appraise and critically apply the evidence-base for Clinical Practice., • Be wholly accountable for his/her own nursing practice and take every reasonable opportunity to sustain and improve the knowledge, skills and values required for safe and effective practice, • Registered Nurse with valid NMC Registration, • Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level, • Be able to demonstrate knowledge of NHS Scotland’s Leadership Qualities framework or equivalent framework, • Management knowledge gained through experience and continuous professional development, • Professional, leadership and managerial experience within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently., • Extensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the health care agenda., • Car driver, with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA licence (required to travel between sites) As a valued employee of NHS Lanarkshire, you can enjoy an extensive range of benefits including: • Annual Leave - 35 days including public holidays, • Generous NHS pension scheme, • Annual incremental salary progression, • Paid sick leave increasing with length of service, • NHS discounts and more.
