Job Title: Chef Manager Secondary School Location: Streatham Park, SW17 Contract: 42 weeks per year Hours: 7:00am 4:30pm Salary: £42,000 per annum Role Overview We are seeking an experienced and confident Chef Manager to lead catering operations across a large, high-volume multi-site education setting. This role is based primarily within a secondary school environment, with responsibility for additional onsite outlets and support across associated primary schools. The successful candidate will be a strong, hands-on manager with proven experience in high-volume catering, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to manage multiple service points effectively. Sites Covered Secondary school main kitchen Sixth Form Shack Restaurant outlet 2 food pods 2 associated primary schools (support role paperwork assistance only; both sites have on-site managers) Team Structure 1 x Chef Manager (You) 1 x Chef 1 x Customer Service Assistant Approximately 20 x General Assistants Key Responsibilities Oversee day-to-day catering operations across all service areas Deliver a high-quality food offer in a fast-paced, high-volume environment (turnover approx. £5.5k per day) Lead, motivate, and manage a large catering team Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and company standards Manage stock control, ordering, and wastage Support primary school sites with administrative tasks and paperwork as required Maintain strong relationships with site leadership and on-site managers Drive customer satisfaction and continuous improvement Key Skills & Experience Proven experience as a Chef Manager or similar senior catering role Strong understanding of high-volume food production and service Experience managing multiple sites or service outlets Confident leader with the ability to manage and develop large teams Excellent organisational and communication skills Financial awareness and experience managing budgets and targets Knowledge of education catering (secondary school experience preferred) What Were Looking For A strong, organised, and resilient manager Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Able to balance operational delivery with administrative responsibilities Passionate about food quality, service, and team development TPBN1_UKCT
