Workshop Engineer (x2) - Hydraulic/Mechanical Assembly\n\nLocation: Gloucester\n\nA well-established engineering services business is seeking two Workshop Engineers to join its internal workshop team. This is a hands-on role supporting increased demand, focused on the build, assembly, and testing of industrial equipment within a structured workshop environment.\n\nThe Role\n\nYou will be responsible for assembling, testing, and preparing equipment from engineering drawings through to final build. The role involves working on bespoke mechanical systems and components, ensuring quality, performance, and reliability.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nAssemble mechanical systems, sub-assemblies, and components from engineering drawings\nBuild and configure equipment including pumps, motors, valves, and associated components\nCarry out pipework and hose assembly where required\nPerform testing, inspection, and basic system validation\nCarry out mechanical fitting, alignment, and general assembly tasks\nEnsure equipment meets required performance and quality standards\nComplete build records, test documentation, and job reports\nMaintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment in line with HSE standards\n\nAbout You\n\nStrong hands-on mechanical assembly and fitting experience\nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings\nExperience working in a workshop, manufacturing, or assembly environment\nSome exposure to fluid power or similar systems is beneficial\nGood attention to detail and quality standards\nBasic understanding of electrical or control components is advantageous\nRelevant engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or apprenticeship) preferred\n\nDesirable Skills\n\nWelding experience (MIG/TIG)\nForklift licence\nExposure to CAD drawings or design reviews\n\nWorking Environment\n\nWorkshop-based role with hands-on mechanical work\nInvolves standing for extended periods and manual handling of components\nCollaborative team environment with a focus on quality and safety\n\nWhat's on Offer\n\nOpportunity to join a stable and growing engineering business\nOngoing workload and long-term career prospects\nTraining and development opportunities
