Sports Coach / SEN Teaching Assistant\nLocation: Pinner, North West London\nHours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 16:00\nContract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only\nStart Date: ASAP\n\nWe are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Sports Coach / SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive SEN school in Pinner. This unique role combines sports coaching with classroom-based learning support, using physical activity to promote engagement, teamwork, positive behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nSports Coaching\n\n * \n\n Lead and organise structured sports and physical activities that promote teamwork, cooperation, and leadership\n\n * \n\n Develop inclusive sports programmes that engage pupils of all abilities\n\n * \n\n Use sport as a tool to support behaviour regulation, confidence, and social skills\n\n * \n\n Ensure a safe and supportive environment during all physical activities\n\nClassroom & SEN Support\n\n * \n\n Support teachers with classroom management and pupil engagement\n\n * \n\n Provide targeted support to pupils, particularly those with Autism (ASC)\n\n * \n\n Integrate physical activity into learning to support focus and participation\n\n * \n\n Support pupils 1:1 and in small groups as required\n\nStudent Wellbeing\n\n * \n\n Promote mental wellbeing, resilience, and healthy lifestyles through physical activity\n\n * \n\n Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs\n\n * \n\n Work closely with teaching staff and pastoral teams to support individual needs\n\nCollaboration & Communication\n\n * \n\n Work collaboratively with staff to plan activities, events, and enrichment programmes\n\n * \n\n Maintain basic records of pupil progress and engagement\n\n * \n\n Communicate effectively with pupils, parents/carers, and colleagues\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\n * \n\n Experience in sports coaching, ideally within an educational setting\n\n * \n\n Ability to use sport to develop life skills, confidence, and emotional regulation\n\n * \n\n Experience supporting pupils with Autism or SEN (highly desirable)\n\n * \n\n Relevant coaching qualifications preferred\n\n * \n\n Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills\n\nPersonal Attributes\n\n * \n\n Passionate about sport and inclusive education\n\n * \n\n Supportive, empathetic, and well organised\n\n * \n\n Confident communicator and strong team player\n\nWhat’s on Offer\n\n * \n\n A rewarding dual role within a specialist SEN setting\n\n * \n\n Supportive leadership and SEN-focused staff team\n\n * \n\n Ongoing training and professional development\n\n * \n\n Opportunity to make a real impact through sport and education
