Job Advert – Year 2 Teacher (Maternity Cover) Location: Grimsby Start Date: May 2026 – July 2026 Salary: £140-£180 Are you a motivated and committed Teacher looking for a rewarding short-term role? We are seeking an enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join their friendly, supportive team to cover maternity leave from May until July 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone seeking a secure and fulfilling role to take them right up to the summer holidays. About the Role This is a great opportunity to join a welcoming one-form entry primary school with a strong community feel and high expectations for pupil progress. What You’ll be Doing: • Teaching a Year 2 class within a nurturing, inclusive environment, • Delivering RWI Phonics as part of the school’s established phonics programme, • Taking responsibility for planning, teaching and assessing across all subjects in the year group To Thrive in This Role You Will Be: • Experienced in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2, • Confident delivering Read Write Inc. phonics, • Skilled in planning and delivering high-quality lessons across the primary curriculum, • Committed to raising standards and developing independent, motivated learners, • Able to integrate quickly into a supportive and collaborative team Requirements: • Qualified Teacher Status, • Experience teaching in KS1 in UK primary schools, • A valid Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one), • Strong behaviour and classroom management skills, • Excellent communication and organisational skills Benefits of Working with Reed Education: • Competitive daily pay with weekly payroll, • Access to free CPD and training (including early years and phonics courses, • A dedicated consultant with hands on teaching experience, always here to offer support.
