Company Overview Inverkip Hotel is a renowned independently operated Restaurant, Bar & Hotel in the heart of Inverkip on the West Coast. We are growing our team for an exciting and ambitious new chapter for our institution. Overview of the Role The Head Chef at Inverkip Hotel is the creative and operational leader of our food offering across our Restaurant, Bars and in-house events. With purpose, care, and a deep respect for Scottish produce, you will work in our leadership team to shape a food experience that reflects both the character of Inverkip and our West Coast location. From defining the culinary vision, creating thoughtful seasonal menus and building a skilled kitchen team, you will take ownership of the kitchen in its entirety. The role spans every stage of the operation, from development and recruitment through to the delivery of consistent, high-quality service each day. Working closely with the team and our suppliers, you will balance creativity with discipline to build an exceptional guest experience. Who we are looking for - Skills & Competencies • Proven experience as a Head Chef., • Creative and seasonal in your cooking, with a respect for Scottish produce and heritage., • Confident, calm leader with a positive, hands-on approach., • Strong organisational and communication skills., • Commercially aware, with experience managing GP, stock, and waste., • High standards of food safety, cleanliness, and kitchen discipline., • Collaborative and solutions-focused with both our team and suppliers Qualifications & Experience • Experience as a Head Chef in a fresh-food kitchen., • Strong background in seasonal, ingredient-led cooking., • Experience leading and developing kitchen teams., • Knowledge of food safety and health & safety compliance., • Relevant culinary qualifications or equivalent experience. Key Responsibilities • Oversee the day to day kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service flow, • Uphold high standards of service, presentation, and cleanliness, • Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, licensing and health & safety regulations, • Lead by example in maintaining consistency, attention to detail, and pride in presentation, • Maintain a visible presence across service periods, setting the tone for attentive personable hospitality, • Respond to guest feedback with care and professionalism., • Work closely with quality suppliers to provide unwavering quality and value to our guests, • Prepare and review weekly and monthly kitchen performance reports, • Reporting key insights to the General Manager, and wider leadership team to support informed decision making, • Maintain accurate records for stock, labour and compliance ensuring reporting are reliable and up to date.
