UX/UI Designer Introduction This is a chance to join a specialist technology consultancy working at the heart of the UK defence and government space, helping modernise secure systems with thoughtful, user-centred design. You’ll be shaping interfaces that genuinely matter, in an environment where quality, clarity, and security are non-negotiable. Role Overview: • Location: Farnborough (3–4 days per week on site), • Package: £400 - £500 per day (Outside IR35), initial 2-month contract with strong likelihood of extension, • Industry: Defence / Government Technology What You’ll Be Doing: • Designing intuitive UX/UI solutions for secure, web-based applications, • Working closely with engineering teams using component-based design approaches, • Contributing to and evolving established design systems to ensure consistency and scalability, • Creating dashboards, workflows, and forms that support complex user processes, • Designing interfaces for mapping, navigation, and planning-based systems, • Translating user needs and technical requirements into clear, usable designs, • Collaborating in a multidisciplinary team within a high-security environment Main Skills Needed: • Strong UX/UI design experience across complex web applications, • Hands-on experience with Figma, • Solid understanding of component-based design (React-aligned environments), • Experience working with design systems (e.g. Carbon or similar), • Background designing interfaces for mapping, navigation, or planning tools, • Ability to work on-site in Farnborough up to 4 days per week, • Eligible for SC clearance (UK sole British / naturalised, no dual citizenship) What’s in It for You: • Outside IR35 contract with a competitive day rate, • Opportunity to work on meaningful, high-impact systems in defence and government, • Modern working environment with on-site facilities including gym, café, and parking, • Access to professional development and long-term extension potential, • A collaborative, down-to-earth culture focused on doing things properly Call to Action: If you’re nodding along, let’s take the next step.
