We’re working with an innovative clean energy company developing hydrogen fuel cells, hydrogen generation systems and integrated power solutions. As they scale their engineering team, they’re looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to support existing systems and help develop next-generation products from concept through to deployment. This is a hands-on senior engineering role for someone who wants to stay close to the technology combining electrical design, controls, instrumentation and real-world system delivery. You’ll be working across: • Hydrogen fuel cell systems, • Hydrogen generation technologies, • Integrated power platforms, • Real-world industrial equipment and packaged systems What you’ll be doing: • Lead electrical, controls and instrumentation delivery across projects and product development, • Develop electrical schematics, control panel designs and system architectures, • Produce detailed electrical design documentation for manufacture and integration, • Select electrical and instrumentation equipment, including hazardous area applications, • Support build, integration, FAT, testing and system verification activities, • Undertake fault finding, hands-on evaluation and support of live systems, • Produce documentation for compliance, validation and manufacture, • Support safety and risk activities including HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA, SIL and Cause & Effect reviews, • Support CE / UKCA compliance activities, • Provide technical support and mentorship across the engineering team Experience Required: • Strong background in electrical, controls and instrumentation engineering within industrial, machinery, automation or process environments, • Experience producing electrical schematics and control panel designs, • Experience designing electrical systems to EN 60204 and BS7671, • Knowledge of functional safety and industrial safety systems, • Experience working with PLC-based systems (Siemens preferred), • Experience supporting build, integration, commissioning or FAT activities, • Comfortable working across design, testing, troubleshooting and delivery, • Ability to take ownership from requirements through to commissioning Desirable: • ATEX / hazardous area experience, • Hydrogen, gas processing, process plant or industrial equipment experience Why join? • Work on cutting-edge hydrogen and clean energy technology, • Be part of taking products from concept through deployment, • High ownership, high-impact engineering role, • Fast-moving, innovation-led environment This is an opportunity to design, build and deliver real systems in one of the most exciting areas of clean energy.
