Outside Sales Representative – Commercial Security & Low Voltage Territory: Northern & Central New Jersey (Hybrid) Compensation: $150K–$200K+ Total Earnings | $50K–$75K+ Base + Commission Overview A growing provider of commercial security and low-voltage solutions is seeking an experienced Outside Sales Representative to lead business development efforts across Northern and Central New Jersey. This individual will be responsible for identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities within the commercial market. This is a high-impact, territory ownership role, offering the opportunity to build a book of business in a market with strong demand and high-margin solutions. The ideal candidate brings prior experience in commercial security or low-voltage sales and is comfortable engaging with decision-makers across a range of industries. Position Summary The Outside Sales Representative will manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting through close, while delivering consultative solutions tailored to client needs. This role involves working closely with internal technical and project teams to ensure successful implementation and long-term client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities • Identify and prospect new business opportunities within commercial markets, • Develop and maintain relationships with business owners, property managers, contractors, and key decision-makers, • Conduct on-site consultations to assess client needs and recommend tailored security and low-voltage solutions, • Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and contracts, • Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach through deal closure, • Collaborate with internal project and technical teams to ensure seamless execution, • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, pipeline, and client interactions within CRM systems, • Consistently meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets Solutions Sold • Access Control Systems: Card readers, biometric systems, key fob access, cloud-based platforms, • CCTV & Video Surveillance: IP cameras, video management software, remote monitoring, AI analytics, • Burglar & Intrusion Systems: Motion detection, glass break sensors, perimeter security, monitoring services, • Fire Alarm Systems: Detection, notification, monitoring, and compliance solutions Qualifications • 2+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally within commercial security, low-voltage, or related technology solutions, • Hands-on experience selling commercial (not residential) security solutions strongly preferred, • Working knowledge of CCTV, access control systems, alarm systems, and related infrastructure, • Experience with bidding processes and proposal development, • Strong consultative sales, communication, and negotiation skills, • Self-motivated with the ability to manage a territory independently, • Proficiency with CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office, • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel throughout the territory Compensation & Incentives • Base Salary: $50K–$75K+ (flexible based on experience; up to ~$80K for highly experienced candidates), • Total Compensation:Year 1: Mid-$100Ks, • Long-Term: $200K+ earning potential, • Monthly commissions with high-margin offerings Benefits • 401(k) with company match, • Medical, dental, and vision insurance, • Company-paid short- and long-term disability, • Life and AD&D insurance, • Pre-tax health and dependent care accounts, • Paid time off and holidays, • Tuition reimbursement Work Environment • Hybrid structure: Primarily field-based with work-from-home flexibility, • Minimal office requirement (approximately 1–2 days per month), • Travel throughout Northern and Central New Jersey Why This Opportunity • This role offers the chance to take ownership of a defined territory in a growing division with strong internal support and high-margin solutions.
