Job DescriptionLocation: Brooklyn, NY (in-office preferred; hybrid flexibility for the right candidate)Salary Range: $50,000 – $90,000/year, depending on experience and responsibility levelCompany: DRN’s Corp / Direct Promotions About the Role We’re looking for a hands-on, detail-driven Bookkeeper who wants more than just a job, someone ready to grow into a Full-Charge Bookkeeper and eventually help steer the financial health of a growing company. You’ll start with the core: accounts payable, receivable, and payroll. Then, as you prove your skill and initiative, you’ll take on reconciliations and financial reporting. The goal? To become a trusted internal watchdog, someone who understands where the money goes, catches what others miss, and isn’t afraid to speak up. This is not a passive role. It’s about protecting and guiding a growing company through sharp insight and good judgment. Responsibilities (in growth phases)Phase 1 – Bookkeeping Basics • Accounts Payable, • Receive and enter bills (via email or mail) into QuickBooks, • Verify bills against orders, margins, and delivery confirmations, • Pay via Bill.com (ACH), Divvy (credit card), and checks (reviewed/approved by CEO), • Accounts Receivable, • Process payments across ACH, credit card, checks, and wires, • Use QuickBooks + custom ERP to track revenue (training provided), • Stay on top of collections and manage internal credit holds, • Payroll, • Run payroll biweekly via ADP Run, • Onboard new hires into the biometric clock system, • Verify hours, handle reimbursements, deductions, and commissions, • Reconcile credit card and bank accounts in QuickBooks, • Accurately categorize every transaction (some bills, some subscriptions, some recurring), • Ensure that every penny in and out is accounted for with clean line items, • Spot trends, overspending, inefficiencies, hidden costs, and/or overstaffing, • Propose savings, cleanup, or workflow improvements, • Think proactively: “How do I make sure every dollar we spend is valid, fair, and necessary?”, • 3–5 years working with QuickBooks, • 5+ years of total bookkeeping experience, • 2+ years in payroll processing (preferably using ADP Run or Paychex), • 2–3+ years managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and performing bank/credit card reconciliations, • You don’t just “do the job”, you think critically, • You ask questions like “Is this expense justified?”, • You care about accuracy, not just balance, • You speak up when something looks off, and bring ideas to fix it, • $50,000 – $90,000/year starting, depending on experience and scope of responsibility
