Job DescriptionThis is a temporary role from May 2026 through December 2026 and does not offer benefits. Summary: The Human Resource Coordinator will provide human resource support to the business operations of Melville Management Corp’s (MMC). Human Resource management and coordination will include, but is not limited to, human resource compliance, new hire and intermittent employee paperwork, new employee set up, benefits processing, employee file maintenance, job postings, leave management, and special projects as assigned. Human Resources Duties and Responsibilities • Oversee the new employee onboarding process, including orientations that set expectations and communicate all relevant new employee information, collecting information and forms, and processing of all new employee paperwork., • Administer MMC’s employee benefits program: review benefits programs and recommend new benefits as necessary. Coordinate with various companies, brokers and carriers directly to ensure MMC offers best in class programs to retain talent and implementing new benefits as needed. Maintain insurance contracts. Process and reconcile monthly insurance bills; ensure regulatory compliance. COBRA administration., • Administer MMC’s 401k plan, reviewing plan guidelines, investments options, fees and following administrative guidelines to ensure MMC meets all 401k plan testing requirements and is in compliance., • Process employee insurance and 401k forms; enrollments, updates and terminations. Assist employees regarding employee benefits programs; act as a liaison between employees and benefits companies to respond to inquiries and solve issues., • Process changes in employee status by distributing and collecting forms, obtaining signatures, ensuring data is complete, entering data into appropriate tracking systems, and distributing information to households as necessary., • Maintain and update MMC’s employee handbooks as needed. This includes communicating with in-house counsel and outside counsel to ensure compliance while meeting the needs of the Principals. Responding to employee inquiries regarding policy and procedure, communicating policy changes.., • Create and update job descriptions., • Perform exit interviews and submit information to management as deemed necessary., • Track and coordinate employee development: maintain and track employee training; set up and schedule training classes; ensure timeliness of employee performance reviews; assist with the development of training programs., • Maintain competency and ensure compliance with governmental legal compliance requirements (WTPA, FLSA, ADA, NYHRL, Wage & Hour, etc.)., • Administer and track employee leaves of absence., • Maintain employee files, ensuring accuracy of data, recording changes, proper filing, and maintaining confidentiality of records., • Responds to requests for employment verification by third parties., • Process all compensation changes and forward to payroll., • Maintain human resource database or tracking systems., • Make recommendations and improvement to human resource systems. This may include but is not limited to human resource database, payroll systems, time record-keeping, performance metrics, etc., • Assist in the implementation and administration of various programs, including but not limited to safety, performance, training, etc., • Consult with other entities on human resource issues., • Other duties and special projects will be assigned., • Minimum of ten (10) years human resources experience, including HR compliance and performance management., • Position based in Melville, but travel to NYC on an occasional basis., • ADP Workforce knowledge and experience. Background including California employment law a plus., • Understands employee file maintenance requirements., • Must be energetic, self-motivated, fast learner, accountable, considerate, patient, flexible, open to others ideas and new technologies, team-player, and have a professional attitude., • Competencies in governmental legal compliance requirements (FLSA, ADA, NYHRL, Wage & Hour, etc.)., • Communicate effectively with all levels of an organization, including senior management and legal counsel., • Proficient in record-keeping; strong documentation skills., • Bachelor’s degree in business, human resources, or related field., • Professional Human Resource certification.
