Job Description POSITION SUMMARY: RVE is seeking a water / wastewater inspector with experience in the field of water and sewer construction. The ideal candidate should be familiar with gravity sanitary main, sanitary force main, pump station and wastewater treatment plant components and operation. The individual should also be versed in water main installation, water supply distribution systems and the components and operation of water treatment plants. The individual may also inspect storm sewer systems and roadway construction. The candidate should have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in this field. They will provide construction observation and project management services for municipal and county agencies. PRIMARY DUTIES: • Perform constructability and plan reviews prior to construction. Interact with the design engineer with input before the project goes out to bid., • Perform construction management services for projects that consist of water supply and sanitary distribution systems. Including work in water and wastewater plants. Ensure the job site is maintained in a safe, neat, and orderly fashion by the contractor., • Provide inspection of contractors work to ensure that the work is being performed as per plans and specifications and regulatory requirements. Communicate with the project manager daily about the progress on the project. Keep the client informed of the project’s progress., • Attending and running pre-construction & weekly progress meetings with the client and contractor and give input on issues that arise during construction. Follow through with RFIs to maintain the project runs as scheduled and communicate with Engineering Team., • Conduct on-site observations of the work in progress to assist Engineer in determining if the Work is proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents, both alone and/or as part of a team., • Keep a diary or logbook of all observations and daily activities for ongoing work and provide Engineer with daily reports to include all labor trades and equipment supplied by Contractor., • Review applications for payment with Contractor and confer with Engineer on recommendations for progress payments., • Be knowledgeable of NJDEP procedures and requirements for management of a project., • Perform field testing of materials installed and start-up and acceptance of equipment., • Prepare a final punch list at substantial completion and perform final project review for project closeout., • Construction and building inspectors examine worksites, both alone and as part of a team. Some inspectors climb ladders or crawl in tight spaces. Most work full time during regular business hours. Job Description We are seeking a Field Project Foreman to become an integral part of our team! You will coordinate and oversee the organization's daily operations. Responsibilities: • Manage and improve operational practices, • Allocate resources and materials to meet project deadlines within the perceived budget, • Track and forecast operational trends and analysis to meet and/or exceed project milestone dates, • Provide daily operations oversight and reports, • Read and understand construction bid documents including but not limited to specifications, manuals and blueprints for private, commercial, state and city-wide agency projects, • Have extensive experience managing various construction trades related to concrete work, rebar, asphalt work, masonry, carpentry, earth work and site work, • Possess reasonable foresight in projecting potential change order work for any project work performed, • Must be able to calculate and order construction material required for projects, • Must communicate with clients regularly with regards to project scheduling, means and methods approach, phasing of work among other trades, forecasting of work to be performed, etc., • Ability to coordinate all phases of construction (pre-construction, close outs, etc.), • Previous experience in operations or other related fields, minimum 5 years experience in project management and/or construction management., • Strong project management skills, • Strong supervisory skills, • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills, • Strong leadership qualities, • Site and/or labor experienced individuals is preferred., • Be a multi-faceted individual highly capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment. Requirements: The Part-Time Resident Engineer must have a degree in Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or better and NYS Professional Engineer (PE) License with the ability to perform SWPPP Inspections, and a minimum of three (3) years construction management specialized in green infrastructure and work within the NYC boroughs. The track record of the Resident Engineer shall have completed projects with scope complexity, budget and time issues. The RE shall prepare daily/weekly reports, calculation books, meeting minutes, payments, cost analysis, change orders, overruns, directives, etc. Prior NYC or NYS Parks experience is a plus. Pay Rate: $60.00-$75.00/Hourly Salary. Actual compensation will be dependent on the individual’s qualifications, skills, experience, education, and physical work location.
