Position Summary As the Lead Bartender at Bar Avant, located in Olly Olly Market, you are responsible for leading all aspects of the bar program, ensuring consistency, quality, and creativity in execution. RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES: * Always treats guests with courtesy and respect in a variety of situations. * Displays honesty & integrity. * You build strong partnerships with other bar team members. * Observant and thorough. * Responsible, punctual. * Courteous, friendly personality and professional appearance. * Prepare mixers, cut fruit, receive requisitions, check par levels, refill mixers, get ice, run food, and collect and dispose of garbage in all bar areas. * Set-up and breakdown the bar at Rooftop standards. * Assisting with opening and closing duties, such restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that Bartenders have clean towels, cups, etc. * Ensuring bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer. * Keeping the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, and emptying trash to the dumpster. * Maintain records and report levels of usage to assist in reordering process and ensuring that delivered items are stored properly. * Assist with receiver work for the liquor storage restock back-up liquor cages and ensure bartenders have all materials needed for service. * Ensure all tables are clear and cleaned open and closing shifts. * Support Prep with batching and labeling items. * Clean and refill the drafts lines for the bar. * Follow Department of Health (DOH) cleanliness and food handling protocols, including proper glove use. REQUIREMENTS: * One to two (1-2) years of bar experience or equivalent. * Minimum age to serve alcohol. * Knowledge of menu items, including beers, wines, cocktails, and liquors. * Ability to work outdoors in warm weather conditions. * Team-oriented with a proactive attitude toward supporting service operations. * Attention to cleanliness, organization, and guest safety. * Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to handle tense situations with coworkers and customers calmly and rationally. * Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods and working nights, weekends, and holidays. Job Description The Barback maintains all bar environment and equipment. The Barback is responsible for ensuring the bar area is clean, tidy, and fully stocked. The Barback focuses on assisting Bartenders to ensure they have everything they need to serve customers efficiently. This position has an hourly rate of $17.00 + Tips. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Setup and breakdown of bar stations, • Replenish beverages as necessary and check with guests for overall satisfaction, • Mark bar counter appropriately to food order for each course, • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area at all times, ensure bar area is well stocked with supplies and beverages including: o Straighten bar area continuously; restock bar with clean glasses o Clean counters, floors, shelves, and refrigerators; remove trash o Check coolers and shelves to ensure proper stocking of beer, wine, liquor, and all beverages; stock bar with ice as needed o Check for supplies such as sugar, salt, stir sticks, straws, napkins as per specified inside work list o Requisition of additional supplies as needed o Cut fruit and garnishes; retrieve special garnishes from kitchen • Sweeping and mopping in and around bar service areas and customer common areas., • Verify each guest satisfaction during each course or beverage served, • Anticipate guest needs, as to where guests will never have to ask for anything, • Wish every guest a warm farewell and thank them for coming, • All other responsibilities assigned by Management Additional Duties and Responsibilities • Report all suspicious persons or activities and hazardous or unsafe conditions to the management, • Understand and follow the laws and guidelines for beverage service, • Provide excellent service at all times to all of our guests, assist guests courteously and efficiently, • Respond to all guest questions. Provide guest assistance, direction, and information as requested when working in public areas, • Assist Bar and Lobby Lounge cocktail server in lounge when necessary, • Attend all food and beverage training classes, • Following the posted opening and closing duties and side work sheet, • Attend daily pre meal/communication meeting, • Attend monthly department meeting, • Generate a good atmosphere REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS • 2 years’ experience in a luxury hotel environment or similar restaurant or bar setting, • Positive, engaging, and energetic personality, • Able to be organized, manage time wisely and work with little to no direct supervision, • Very high attention to detail, • Sensitive to cultural nuances, • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal on English, • Able to handle a multitude of tasks in an intense, fast paced environment, • Excellent people skills and the ability to work under pressure and with various stakeholders, • Ability to maintain a clean and professional appearance as per company policies, • Ability to stand for extended periods of time, • Multi-lingual is a plus We use eVerify to confirm U.S. Employment eligibility.
