Job Description Position Summary Servers and Bartenders are responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience through attentive service, quality food and beverage execution, and genuine hospitality. This role requires strong product knowledge, efficiency, teamwork, and professionalism in a fast-paced dining environment. Key Responsibilities Guest Experience & Hospitality • Welcome guests warmly and create a friendly, inviting atmosphere, • Provide knowledgeable recommendations for food, cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages, • Anticipate guest needs and deliver attentive service throughout the dining experience, • Handle guest concerns promptly and professionally or escalate to management when appropriate Server Responsibilities • Present menus and explain food specials, ingredients, and preparation methods, • Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders into the POS system, • Deliver food and drinks promptly and confirm order accuracy, • Check on guests during the meal and offer refills, dessert, or additional items, • Process payments accurately, including cash, credit cards, and gift cards, • Complete opening, running, and closing side work Bartender Responsibilities • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and standards, • Maintain consistent drink quality, presentation, and portion control, • Verify guest age and comply with alcohol service laws and company policies, • Monitor guest alcohol consumption and act responsibly, • Maintain bar cleanliness, organization, and inventory awareness, • Assist servers with drink preparation during peak service times Food & Beverage Knowledge • Maintain thorough knowledge of menus, ingredients, allergens, and drink recipes, • Promote and upsell cocktails, wine, beer, and food items when appropriate, • Stay informed on new menu items, seasonal offerings, and promotions Teamwork & Operations • Communicate effectively with kitchen, bar, and management teams, • Support teammates during busy periods, • Participate in pre-shift meetings, training, and tastings, • Follow all service steps, SOPs, and brand standards Health, Safety & Compliance • Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, • Comply with local health department and alcohol service regulations, • Maintain valid alcohol service certification (TABC or equivalent) Qualifications • Previous restaurant or bar experience preferred, • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, • Ability to multitask in a high-volume environment, • Professional appearance and positive attitude, • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs, • Must be at least the legal age to serve alcohol Schedule & Availability • Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays required, • Flexible scheduling based on business needs Performance Expectations • Deliver consistent, high-quality service, • Maintain accuracy and efficiency during service, • Uphold restaurant culture, values, and guest-first mindset Culinary Philosophy: MaKiin blends the rich traditions of Thai cuisine with modern creativity—reimagining classic flavors through innovative techniques, elegant presentation, and premium ingredients.
