    Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Barista to join our team in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers. Responsibilities Prepare and serve high-quality coffee and tea beverages according to established recipes and standards. Operate Square POS system efficiently for order processing and cash handling. Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and offering recommendations. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation surfaces and equipment. Adhere to food safety and handling guidelines to ensure a safe environment for both staff and customers. Assist with inventory management, including restocking supplies as needed. Handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring proper change is given and maintaining cash drawer integrity. Demonstrate effective time management skills to ensure timely service during peak hours. Experience Previous barista experience or background in the food service industry is preferred. But that is NOT mandatory. Familiarity with coffee preparation techniques and equipment is highly desirable. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with guests. Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and retail math calculations. Experience with food preparation, food safety practices, and serving is beneficial. We are looking for a Head Barista to join us at the groundbreaking of our Williamsburg-based cultural and family-owned café. This is a unique opportunity to help shape daily operations, beverage quality, and café culture from the very beginning. Please note: this is a community-forward café where connection is encouraged and great customer service is a must. The Role The Head Barista is both a craft leader and a culture carrier. You will set the tone behind the bar, ensure consistency and quality in every drink, and help create a welcoming, calm, and thoughtful customer experience for adults, creatives, and families alike. This role is ideal for someone who loves hospitality, thrives in intimate community spaces, and wants to grow with a small business from launch.
