Job DescriptionJob Title: Barista & Shift ManagerLocation: Annapolis Junction. Maryland Reports to: Store Manager / Owner Position Summary: We are seeking a skilled, customer-focused Barista & Shift Manager to join our team. In this dual role, you will deliver exceptional coffee and beverage service while leading shifts, ensuring smooth operations, and maintaining a positive, welcoming environment for both customers and staff. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare and serve high-quality espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and specialty beverages with consistency and speed., • Deliver outstanding customer service, build rapport with guests, and handle customer concerns professionally., • Lead and supervise the team during your shift, including coaching, directing workflow, and maintaining standards., • Oversee daily operations such as opening/closing procedures, cleanliness, and food/beverage safety compliance., • Manage shift inventory, restocking, and waste minimization., • Uphold brand standards for drink quality, presentation, and service excellence., • Support training of new baristas and promote a positive team culture. Requirements: • 1+ years of barista experience in a specialty coffee shop (preferred)., • Previous shift lead or supervisory experience in food/beverage service., • Strong knowledge of coffee, espresso techniques, and drink recipes., • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, upbeat personality., • Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, afternoons, weekends, and holidays., • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to perform well in a fast-paced environment., • ServSafe and/or food handler certification (or willingness to obtain).
