Job Description Position Purpose: The System Engineer- Hosting Services will handle implementing robust and secure computing solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data center, servers, storage and virtualization, crucial information security knowledge, exceptional problem-solving skills, and a passion for staying up to date with technology trends. This position reports into the infrastructure manager and will be based in Jessup, MD Responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Architect, recommend, develop global hosting solutions and technologies that support business needs and best practices., • Monitor all servers and storage devices, manage the System Life Cycle of all our Hosting Systems., • Architect and manage our global IT hosting services Strategy and Architecture., • Architect and implement effective security measures, policies, and procedures to safeguard data, servers, and information systems., • Supply insights into virtualization, storage, interoperability, and access to both on-prem and cloud-based infrastructure resources., • Work with manufacturing teams to integrate best practices around OT infrastructure. Work with the GBS team to ensure identified gaps are remediated., • Develop and utilize hosting services incident playbooks., • Supply mentorship, guidance, and training to other members of the IT team in industry best practices for server and systems management., • Along with GBS management, update security policies and procedures based on the latest industry standards and best practices., • Participate in security assessments to identify vulnerabilities, weaknesses, and potential threats in our systems and infrastructure., • Provide mentorship, guidance, and training to other members of the IT team and end-users in security best practices and procedures., • Participate in audit activities to ensure we are compliant with standards set by Amsted and/or contract requirements. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or a related field (relevant certifications may be considered in lieu of a degree)., • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a Server and Storage SME, Systems Administrator, Infrastructure Architect, or a similar role., • A deep understanding of various operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows) is essential. Proficiency in tasks such as installation, configuration, patch management, user management, and system monitoring are crucial., • Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMware, Hyper-V, or KVM is essential for managing virtualized environments efficiently, including provisioning, performance tuning, and resource allocation., • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is valuable for hybrid or fully cloud-based hosting., • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash, PowerShell) and automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)., • Knowledge of storage technologies (e.g., SAN, NAS (Network Attached Storage), RAID) and storage management tools is important for ensuring data availability, redundancy, and optimal performance., • Proficiency in designing and implementing backup and disaster recovery strategies, including regular backups, data replication, and recovery testing, is crucial to prevent data loss., • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, and PCI DSS., • Effective communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders., • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Job Description Reports to work as indicated on the work schedule and in the correct uniform. Practices positive personal hygiene and cleanliness habits during all work shifts. Obtains staffing and station assignments for all servers, service assistants, runners and bar staff from the Manager-on-Duty. Completes table/station chart with these assignments. Correctly completes all opening and side work duties of the hostess/host at the start of the shift, in a timely manner. Assists the Manager-on-Duty in planning reservations and assigning parties to appropriate tables, stations and/or servers. Answers the telephone in a timely, pleasant and courteous manner. Correctly takes, confirms and documents reservations. Immediately recognizes and greets arriving Guests, obtains Guests’ names, provides names to servers and directs guests to the appropriate waiting areas. Escorts Guests to their assigned table, to all Guests. Controls the flow of business by practicing rotation seating, anticipating table turns and following the reservation and seating plan. Accurately quotes waiting times to guests and correctly maintains the “wait” list. Informs Manager-on-Duty when waiting times are running over times quoted to our guests. Maintains cleanliness and organization of the hostess/host stand and lobby area throughout the shift. Monitors and enforces social distancing requirements in waiting areas as dictated by state and local social distancing regulations. Communicates to the Manager-on-Duty any and all situations where a Guest may express concern or dissatisfaction with any aspect of the dining experience. Acknowledges all departing guests and invites them to return. Answers phone to take orders from Take Out and Delivery orders. Takes, records and rings all food and beverage items ordered by Take Out Guests. Receives Take Out orders from Food Runner or kitchen staff, checks for accuracy, and addresses any inaccuracies. Correctly presents the Take Out Guest check and coordinates payment for all food and beverages sold with Bartender. Addresses any Take Out Guest complaints. Completes all closing duties in a timely manner. Follows all national, state, and local safety, health, and sanitation guidelines as specified by the restaurant. Supports other Front-of-House positions as needed, providing a seamless Guest experience to all Guests. Performs all duties and maintains knowledge of all standards and procedures, as stated in the MHG Employee Training Packet – Hostess/ Host. Additional duties as assigned.
