Job DescriptionOur cashier/take-out staff are sometimes our guests only impression of Highway Inns customer service, whether it be over the phone or take-out order. These team members are cool under pressure, capable of handling phone and in-person interactions, and quick to welcome arriving guests. The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of Hawaiian food and culture, is an efficient multi-tasker, has a welcoming demeanor, and genuinely conveys the sense of aloha and ohana that is core to our brand. Duties include: β’ Promptly and warmly greeting guests with aloha on the phone or in person, β’ Providing information or answering basic questions regarding: menu items and general restaurant information (such as parking, hours, promotions, etc.), β’ Accurately ringing up and cashing out orders in Point of Sale (POS) system, making correct change and reviewing order with the customer to confirm accuracy during the order process and when customer receives food, β’ Simultaneously managing incoming phone and online orders and walk-in orders, β’ Making espresso drinks Qualifications β’ 1 to 2 years customer service experience or in similar role; preferred experience in cashiering and point of sale systems, experience in cafe setting a plus, β’ Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, β’ Strong attendance record, β’ Positive attitude, β’ Team player who is able to multitask efficiently, β’ Able to stand and/or walk continuously for long periods of time, read the POS screen and hear customers in an often-noisy environment, β’ Must be able to lift 20-25 pounds with or without assistanceBenefits/Perks, β’ Closed on all major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, β’ Based on hours worked, employees are eligible for:, β’ Employee discounts, β’ Comprehensive health insurance, β’ Paid time off, β’ Temporary disability insurance, β’ 401K/Profit sharing
