As an ABA Therapist, you’ll provide personalized, trauma-informed behavioral support to individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism, using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques. You’ll work closely with families, educators, and healthcare teams, ensuring interventions are culturally competent, engaging, and tailored to each individual’s strengths and needs. We have multiple locations that we service around New York City; Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam, Nassau, and Suffolk Counties. We can offer Full-Time / Part-Time / Contract positions. We offer a flexible schedule with remote/hybrid work with travel to patients within your community. Key Responsibilities: · Behavioral Skill Development – Implement evidence-based ABA techniques (positive reinforcement, shaping, prompting) to teach essential skills and reduce challenging behaviors. · Individualized Treatment Planning – Collaborate with BCBAs, educators, and families to develop and implement person-centered goals and strategies that align with the individual’s needs. · Data Collection & Progress Monitoring – Track behavioral trends, intervention success, and learning outcomes, using real-time analysis to refine treatment plans. · Family & Caregiver Collaboration – Provide guidance, support, and coaching to caregivers, ensuring continuity of care across home, school, and community settings. · Assessment & Adaptation – Conduct functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to determine effective interventions and adjust techniques based on individual progress. · Trauma-Informed, Strength-Based Approach – Utilize strategies that honor each individual’s experience, culture, and emotional needs, fostering empowerment, resilience, and trust. · Interdisciplinary Coordination – Work alongside teachers, therapists, healthcare providers, and community supports to ensure holistic, collaborative care. · Accurate Documentation & Compliance – Maintain timely and professional reports detailing treatment strategies, client progress, and program effectiveness. · Commitment to Professional Growth – Stay current on ABA research, innovative techniques, and best practices, ensuring highest standards of care Qualifications · Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Psychology, Special Education, ABA, or related field (BCBA certification preferred) · Minimum 1–2 years of experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities · Strong knowledge of ABA principles & behavior modification techniques · Experience with trauma-informed care & culturally competent practices · Excellent communication & collaboration skills (with families, educators, and providers) · Ability to document data accurately & follow treatment plans with precision · Commitment to continuous learning & evidence-based interventions Why Join EmpowerED Care? · Competitive Pay | Mission-Driven Work | Career Growth · Trauma-Informed, Inclusive Workplace – Work alongside compassionate, equity-focused professionals dedicated to transformative care. · Ongoing Training & Professional Development – Gain certifications in trauma-informed case management, crisis intervention, and leadership development.
