Senior Buyer Direct Reports: None Key Contacts: Production Control, Finance, Global Purchasing Team, Machine Production Department, Label Manufacturing (NA and Global), Quality, Shipping/ Export, Customer Service, Engineering, Stores, Field Service Key Performance Indicators • On-Time delivery of parts/assemblies, • Cost control of parts/assemblies to standard costs, • Zero defects of parts/assemblies supplied, • Manage Inventory at Supported Sites, • Transactional volumes, • Supply chain risk mitigationKey Accountabilities, • Support assigned Sinclair sites by strategically procuring components, supplies, and services to maintain continuity of operations while balancing department and business KPIs., • Responsibility for the day-to-day management of a group of designated supplier accounts. This will include the evaluation and selection of new suppliers, general purchasing transactions, monitoring of purchase order progress, on-time order delivery, cost control, inventory turns, supporting aspects of supplier quality and the ongoing assessment of supplier risks.Key Duties and Responsibilities Purchasing: • Make independent decisions on procurement matters within set financial constraints, company objectives and agreed strategies., • Interrogate the company business system to determine purchasing demands, applying value judgement, as necessary., • Raise and manage Purchase Orders generated on the company business system in compliance with the Purchasing Procedures, ensuring that they are accurate and reflect the current MRP/business demands as well as overall business strategies and priorities., • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain a supply profile that best suits the company’s needs whilst maintaining value for money., • Negotiate with suppliers to obtain improved pricing and work with suppliers to avert price increases by exploring alternative supply agreements., • Obtain oral and written price quotations from suppliers that meet the requirements of scheduled, call-off, one-off purchases or development/prototype needs, as appropriate., • Verify that product or services offered by a supplier are to the correct specification and will satisfy the required lead-times and offer best value for money., • Ensure that all suppliers embrace and comply with the company’s operational system –typically, compliance with ISO-9001:2015., • Manage the performance of select suppliers through day-to-day communications, ensuring that they continue to provide a high level of service., • Communicate to Suppliers their respective performances in the designated key areas and redress any consequential issues that may arise., • Continuously monitor, manage and mitigate all potential supplier risks to include financial stability, product obsolescence, single sourced components, single sourced processes and Sinclair consigned tooling., • Research, interview, evaluate and recommend new suppliers based on their suitability to offer the supply of parts or services that are strategically suited to the current and future needs of the business., • Demonstrate continuous effort to streamline work processes, reduce lead-times and work cooperatively with other team members towards improving the purchasing operation., • Machine scheduling, • Label scheduling General Duties:, • Comply with all aspects of Safety regulations and follow the Company Safety Policy., • Abide by all statutory requirements including those relating to health and safety., • Read, understand and fulfil responsibilities under the Company’s equal opportunities policy in place from time to time., • Adhere to and promote all company policies and procedures as may be amended and updated from time to time., • Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by upper management. Sinclair Systems International Person Specification JOB TITLE: Sr. Buyer Essential Desirable Qualifications • Recognized qualification in purchasing., • Current Driving License, • Minimum 5 years’ experience of sourcing and purchasing in a print or machinery-based industry., • Experience translating demands and company strategy into an executable procurement plan, • Experience of using JD Edwards Business System Skills • Strong negotiation skills, • Good communication skills, • Strong verbal, written and presentation skills in English language., • Working knowledge of IT tools and systems., • Supplier evaluation and selection, • Experience of using Outlook, Excel, and Word, • Experience in reading Engineering drawings Personal Attributes • Able to demonstrate accuracy, organizational skills, and thoroughness to the highest possible standard., • Apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form., • Ability to work independently or as part of a team., • Maintain confidentiality., • Be able to adapt to new tasks or responsibilities as required.
