What You'll Do • Deploy into customer contexts. Iterate daily with your customer's engineering and operations teams, mostly over Zoom and Slack, with some travel to spend real time on site., • Scope the build with the customer. You're not handed a spec. You work out what to build and why with the customer directly, paired with a deployment strategist who owns the commercial side., • Build across the full stack. TypeScript and React, NestJS with Postgres and Prisma, and AWS (SQS, SNS, Lambda). New account infrastructure, blockchain integrations, API endpoints, compliance workflows, whatever the launch requires., • Generalize the bespoke. Identify patterns across implementations and work with product to turn engagement output into first-class platform features., • Prototype fast, ship carefully. Rapid iteration against live customer workflows, accepting some throwaway work and making sure what isn't throwaway gets productized properly, all while debugging production issues in real time, sometimes with the customer watching., • Design for correctness and auditability. This is money-movement infrastructure. Edge cases have real consequences, and you think about failure modes before they happen., • Communicate crisply with customer engineers, operators, founders, and finance leaders, and with our own product leads, whose pods your work must generalize into. Who You Are • You're a builder first. We're flexible on tenure. We'll hire a scrappy engineer straight out of school or a seasoned customer-facing engineer. We're not flexible on the bar. You ship production-grade, full-stack work, and you have something you've built to prove it., • You're AI-native. Agentic tools are how you already build, and we'll ask you to show us., • You're energized by customers, not shielded from them. You're comfortable operating directly with an enterprise engineering team, under ambiguity, where the requirements are yours to Client., • You're obsessed with correctness and resilience. You love a good state machine. You think carefully about what happens when things go wrong, because with money they can't., • Strong pluses. Payments and fintech infrastructure experience, blockchain and stablecoin integration work, and a forward-deployed or solutions architect background where you built rather than just configured.

About the role We are seeking an experienced Data Mesh / Enterprise Architect to define the target-state architecture for a complex financial-services data estate. You will translate detailed stored procedures and data-landscape analysis into an actionable enterprise architecture. This includes defining domain and medallion-layer boundaries, creating reusable architecture patterns, designing source-aligned and consumer-aligned data products, and establishing the governance and platform capabilities required to support a federated data mesh. The role requires genuine delivery experience in data-product architecture—not simply familiarity with data mesh concepts. You will need to make practical architectural decisions across legacy SQL estates, lakehouse platforms, reference and master data, data contracts, lineage and enterprise architecture governance. Work Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid, 3 days in a Week) Key responsibilities • Interpret the stored-procedure landscape analysis architecturally: where a single procedure conflates responsibilities belonging to different domains or different medallion layers, define how it is split., • Define one reusable target pattern per MCDB feature class: operational UI / applications (app), raw ingestion from systems of record (stage), third-party market and reference data (refdata), consumer extracts (extract), enterprise model, and the cross-cutting MDM, sub-ledger and risk assets., • Map every inventory item to a pattern and produce the pattern-assignment matrix., • Compose the target-state conceptual architecture on DEAL: source-aligned data products, aggregate and consumer-aligned data products, the federated governance plane, the self-serve platform and the catalogue of catalogues — with the platform provisioning capability but never owning domain data., • Define the medallion mapping for each pattern, • Specify output-port design so that contract-governed subscriptions replace point-to-point extracts, and define the change-feedback loop from consumer to producer., • Produce the complexity, risk and dependency assessment and sequence the roadmap against it. Deliverables owned • Architecture pattern catalogue, one per feature class (Word; TOGAF pattern cards), • Pattern-assignment matrix covering every inventory item (Excel), • Target-state conceptual architecture (C4 and/or ArchiMate diagram + narrative), • Complexity, risk and dependency assessment with sequenced roadmap (Word + diagram) Essential experience • Strong experience in data architecture, 5+ at enterprise or principal level in financial services., • Genuine data mesh / data-product architecture delivery, not familiarity with the literature. Candidates must be able to describe a specific domain decomposition they authored, the contested boundaries within it, and how the platform-versus-domain responsibility split was enforced., • Deep lakehouse and medallion architecture: Databricks with Unity Catalog, Delta, Snowflake, Kafka, Airflow, Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2. Must be able to reason about equivalents on AWS (Lake Formation, Glue Data Catalog, Amazon DataZone) when comparing options for Mizuho., • Reference and master data architecture: vendor onboarding, identifier crosswalks across FIGI, LEI/GLEIF, CUSIP/ISIN, SEDOL and MIC, mastering and distribution to consuming domains., • SQL Server and T-SQL depth sufficient to reason about stored-procedure decomposition — the ownership boundaries in MCDB are inside the procedures, not the schema names., • TOGAF 9 or 10 certified, with demonstrable use of TOGAF to define and govern patterns; ArchiMate or C4 modelling in production use. Preferred / differentiating • FIBO applied to a taxonomy or ontology exercise; ODCS or comparable data-contract specification., • Lineage and catalogue tooling in anger: Solidatus, Unity Catalog, Microsoft Purview, Collibra, Alation, Securiti.ai, Anomalo., • Experience with automated code-intelligence accelerators for SQL/SAS estate analysis. We offer: • A highly competitive compensation and benefits package., • A multinational organization with 58 offices in 22 countries and the possibility to work abroad., • 10 days of paid annual leave (plus sick leave and national holidays)., • Maternity & paternity leave plans., • A comprehensive insurance plan including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-/short-term disability (plans vary by region)., • Retirement savings plans., • A higher education certification policy., • Commuter benefits (varies by region)., • Extensive training opportunities, focused on skills, substantive knowledge, and personal development., • On-demand Udemy for Business for all Synechron employees with free access to more than 5000 curated courses., • Coaching opportunities with experienced colleagues from our Financial Innovation Labs (FinLabs) and Center of Excellences (CoE) groups., • Cutting edge projects at the world’s leading tier-one banks, financial institutions and insurance firms., • A flat and approachable organization., • A truly diverse, fun-loving, and global work culture. About the role We are seeking an experienced Engagement Lead / Principal Architect to lead a strategic data-architecture and transformation engagement. The role combines senior leadership, delivery governance, enterprise data architecture and executive communication. You will be accountable for mobilising the engagement, establishing the delivery controls, coordinating stakeholders across business domains, resolving contested ownership decisions and ensuring that all deliverables meet the agreed quality standard. Working closely with the Data Mesh / Enterprise Architect, you will own and defend the target-state conceptual architecture, lead executive recommendations and shape the next phase of investment. The successful candidate will be comfortable operating at both strategic and delivery levels, including addressing access dependencies, stakeholder availability, technical complexity and regulatory exposure. Work Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid, 3 days in a Week) Key responsibilities • Secure read-only access to SQL Server system metadata and stand up the approved analysis workspace and repository within the first two weeks; this gate governs the whole plan., • Agree the RACI, standards, templates and working cadence with Mizuho, and lock the fortnightly delivery-leadership review and the escalation path into the architecture board., • Map stakeholders and secure a single named coordination point per business domain (a stated dependency of the proposal, and the primary schedule risk)., • Own the risk, issue and dependency log; escalate stakeholder-availability slippage early rather than absorbing it into float., • Chair the DACI forum for contested and multi-domain items. Apply the stated position: exactly one accountable owner plus explicit contracted consumers, never diffuse co-ownership., • Quality-gate every phase exit against the agreed key exits before deliverables reach Mizuho., • Own the target-state conceptual architecture narrative jointly with the Data-Mesh / Enterprise Architect, and defend it at the Mizuho architecture board., • Author the executive summary and recommendations (slide deck and Word), sequencing the roadmap against materiality, regulatory exposure and delivery risk., • Frame the follow-on phase: what Mizuho should fund next, in what order, and what the cost of deferral is on the highest-materiality core tables. Essential experience • Strong experience in data architecture or data transformation consulting, with 3+ years as the accountable owner of engagements at director or principal level., • Capital markets or Tier-1/Tier-2 banking domain grounding: able to hold a credible conversation about trade, position, collateral, sub-ledger and regulatory reporting data without an SME in the room., • Demonstrated ownership of a target-state data architecture that was formally accepted by a bank architecture review board — candidates should be able to name the board, the decision and the objections they had to answer., • Data mesh operating-model fluency: domain ownership, data as a product, self-serve platform, federated computational governance — and a considered view on where mesh fails (over-centralising versus over-fragmenting shared assets)., • Lakehouse and medallion architecture on Azure Databricks; sufficient depth to challenge a pattern, not merely approve it., • Executive presence with bank stakeholders at head-of and MD level; comfortable running a steering committee and delivering unwelcome findings., • TOGAF certification, or equivalent evidence of using TOGAF to govern a pattern catalogue. Preferred / differentiating • Experience decomposing a SQL Server or Oracle monolith where stored-procedure logic obscured ownership boundaries., • Regulatory programme exposure: CCAR / FR Y-14, Dodd-Frank, BCBS 239 lineage and CDE evidence., • Experience running a distributed delivery team across US, Canada and India time zones on a fixed-window engagement. About HIFI HIFI is a stablecoin infrastructure company building technology for the next-generation of financial products. We build tools for payments and tokenized money products across money movement, cards, and capital markets. We've raised $37 million from world-class investors, including a Series A led by Left Lane Capital. About the Team HIFI's compliance team is what makes it possible for banks, fintechs, and institutions to move money on stablecoin rails with confidence. The team owns the BSA/AML program, sanctions controls, and client onboarding that every partnership and every dollar of volume depends on. As stablecoin regulation takes shape this role helps HIFI scales from an early-stage startup into a long-term, category-defining platform, this team will set the standard for how compliance is built into institutional stablecoin infrastructure, as a core part of the product rather than an add-on. The Head of Financial Crime Compliance owns that effort day to day. You'll run HIFI's BSA/AML and sanctions program across both fiat and on-chain flows, and you'll be the primary point of contact for banking partners, auditors, and examiners. This is a senior role with real ownership: you'll set policy, manage and grow the compliance team, and work directly with product and engineering to turn regulatory requirements into onboarding flows and monitoring rules. Responsibilities • Own HIFI's BSA/AML and sanctions compliance program across fiat and stablecoin flows, including the annual risk assessment and independent testing., • Oversee KYC/KYB and enhanced due diligence for institutional clients, fintechs, and financial institutions, and make final calls on high-risk onboarding decisions., • Manage transaction monitoring and investigations, including alert quality, escalation standards, and final review and filing of SARs., • Run sanctions screening (OFAC and other applicable lists) on clients, counterparties, and blockchain wallet addresses, and set the standards for resolving potential matches., • Serve as the primary point of contact for banking partners, auditors, and examiners, and own responses to diligence requests and exam findings., • Write and maintain compliance policies and procedures, including stablecoin-specific requirements under the GENIUS Act, and brief leadership on regulatory changes that affect the business., • Partner with product and engineering to design onboarding flows, monitoring rules, and system controls, and evaluate and select compliance vendors and tooling., • Hire, manage, and develop the compliance team, and set the processes that let the function scale with transaction volume. You might be a fit if • 7+ years of relevant experience in BSA/AML, financial crime compliance, payments compliance, fintech compliance, banking, crypto, or a related field., • Experience operating at a senior individual contributor or management level within a regulated financial services, payments, fintech, crypto, or banking environment., • Strong working knowledge of BSA/AML, KYC/KYB, customer due diligence, enhanced due diligence, OFAC sanctions, transaction monitoring, and suspicious activity escalation., • Strong understanding of payment flows, including ACH, wire, RTP, cross-border payments, virtual accounts, and other bank payment rails., • Strong familiarity with stablecoins, digital asset transactions, blockchain-based settlement, wallets, and crypto compliance risks., • Experience working with compliance platforms such as Sumsub, Persona, TRM Labs, Chainalysis, or similar systems., • Demonstrated experience improving or redesigning manual compliance processes through automation, workflow design, tooling, or operational controls., • Strong judgment and the ability to distinguish between regulatory requirements, partner requirements, internal policy, and risk-based business decisions., • Ability to communicate complex compliance issues clearly to technical, operational, commercial, and executive stakeholders., • Strong project management skills and the ability to drive remediation and implementation work across multiple teams., • Comfort operating in a fast-moving environment where products, regulations, counterparties, and risk profiles evolve quickly. Why This Role Matters Every institution that moves money on HIFI's rails is trusting that the compliance behind them is airtight. This is a chance to build that trust from the ground up at a stablecoin payments infrastructure company as it scales, and to help set the standard for how compliance should work. Additional Requirement Must be within a commutable distance from our office and able to work in person most days of the week. Equal Opportunity Statement HIFI is an equal opportunity employer. We've raised $37 million from world-class investors, including a Series A led by Left Lane Capital. About the Team HIFI's engineering team builds the payments infrastructure that fintechs and financial institutions use to move money on stablecoin rails. The team owns the APIs, ledger, and on-chain systems behind every payment HIFI processes, and works closely with product and compliance to make sure that infrastructure is reliable, secure, and ready for regulated use. As HIFI's volume grows and more institutions build on our platform, this team will decide how stablecoin payments hold up at the scale and standard that traditional financial infrastructure is held to. As a Blockchain Engineer at HIFI you will help own on-chain systems day to day. You'll build and maintain the integrations, smart contracts, and wallet infrastructure that connect HIFI's payments products to the chains and stablecoins we support. This is a hands-on role with real ownership: you'll design how funds move and settle on-chain, work with the rest of engineering to connect those flows to our ledger and APIs, and partner with compliance on controls like wallet screening and transaction monitoring. You'll also be the person the team relies on to judge when a new chain or protocol is ready for production use. What you will build • Wallet infrastructure, including key management, transaction signing, and orchestration across custodial and programmatic wallets., • Onchain transaction handling across EVM chains and the other networks we support, including gas, nonce management, and retries., • Stablecoin minting, burning, and settlement logic that connects USDC and other stablecoins to fiat rails for our on-ramp and off-ramp products., • Integrations with centralized and decentralized exchanges for swaps and liquidity routing, and cross-chain bridging between networks., • A double-entry ledger that keeps onchain balances, banking partners, and customer accounts in sync, with automated reconciliation., • Event listeners, confirmation tracking, and webhooks that give our platform and customers real-time visibility into onchain activity., • Idempotent transaction pipelines with failure recovery and screening hooks, so money moves correctly even when something goes wrong. You might be a fit if • 3+ years of software engineering experience, including at least 1 to 2 years building blockchain systems in production., • Deep familiarity with EVM chains, including transaction lifecycles, gas mechanics, common failure modes, and enough Solidity to read and integrate contracts., • Experience with wallet architecture, such as custody models, signing services, or MPC and HSM-backed setups., • Strong backend fundamentals, including API design, data modeling, and handling consistency and concurrency in distributed systems., • You build financial systems with reconciliation and audit trails by default., • You communicate clearly in code review and in writing. Nice to have • Experience with stablecoin infrastructure such as Circle, or with connecting onchain and fiat settlement., • Hands-on work with CEX APIs, DEX protocols like Uniswap, or bridge integrations., • Experience building ledgers or double-entry accounting systems., • Exposure to compliance engineering, such as transaction monitoring, address screening, or Travel Rule tooling., • Experience with non-EVM chains like Solana or Tron., • Familiarity with traditional money movement, including ACH, wires, and how funds settle between banks and processors., • Early-stage startup experience building and running a system from scratch. Why This Role Matters Every payment HIFI processes eventually settles on-chain, and the institutions behind those payments expect them to work as reliably as a wire or an ACH transfer. This is a chance to build the on-chain systems that hold stablecoin payments to that standard, and to shape how regulated money moves on public blockchains while that infrastructure is still being defined. Additional Requirement Must be within a commutable distance from our office and able to work in person most days of the week. Equal Opportunity Statement HIFI is an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected status.
