Job Description The Role Are you a problem solver? A tech-savvy tinkerer? Are you enthusiastic about science and technology? Liberty Science Center (LSC) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented part-time Exhibit Technician with a specialization in mechanical systems, electronics, and software to support the daily operations, maintenance, and repair of our exhibitions. The Exhibit Technician should be available to work a minimum of three days per week. This role reports to the Senior Manager of Exhibit Services. What You’ll Bring A self-starter with technical chops, you take immense pride in providing exceptional customer service and being able to diagnose and fix problems. What You’ll Do LSC’s part-time Exhibit Technician will perform some combination of the following tasks and responsibilities; however, this is not an exhaustive list so other things may arise as special exhibit needs arise. The ideal candidate must be available to work a minimum of 3 days per week including: weekends, evenings, and holidays as business needs or special events require. Physical Demands The Exhibit Technician is required to be on their feet a majority of the day and use their hands to manipulate tools and materials. The Tech will need to perform diagnostics via visual and audio cues and should be comfortable working at various heights, including working on ladders and lifts. Furthermore, the Exhibit Technician should be comfortable maneuvering through large crowds as well as have a tolerance for working in chaotic or loud environments. The ability to lift 40 lbs. will be necessary. Training will be provided to the Exhibit Technician for the safe operation of the following lifts; scissor, toucan and fork lift. Furniture, printed material, equipment, etc.) and delivery of those shipments to the proper area.
