Zurich is currently looking for a Legal Claims Professional for our Professional Programs group. The Claims professional will under limited supervision handle Professional Liability claims of moderate to high complexity. The ideal candidate will have experience reviewing complaints and all other legal pleadings and discovery, arbitration demands, coverage analysis, determining exposure and setting appropriate reserves. They will resolve claims according to Best Practices and within authority limits and will regularly communicate with customers and brokers and will be dedicated to handle claims for specific programs. Additional responsibilities include: • Analyze coverage; Draft and issue clear, timely coverage determinations., • Investigate liability and damages exposure for claims, • Participate in mediations and negotiation of settlements, • Maintain accurate file documentation, reserves, and reporting in compliance with internal and regulatory standards., • Communicate effectively with insureds, brokers, and program administrators including notifying underwriters of claim issues and trends, • Draft case summary reports in connection with significant reserve increases and trial preparation, • Manage defense counsel and litigation strategies within established guidelines and budgetary restraints. Utilizes platforms and tools to prepare claims estimates to manage complex property insurance claims. * Supports workload surges and catastrophe (CAT) response operations as needed, including mandatory on-call dates and potential evening, weekend, and/or holiday work outside normal work hours. * May be assigned CAT deployment travel with minimal notice during designated CATs. * Works various types of claims, including ones of higher complexity, and may be assigned additional work outside normal duties as needed. * Works independently solving complex problems with minimal guidance; acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. * Adjusts complex claims with attorney involvement. * Recognizes and addresses jurisdictional challenges such as applicable legislation and construction considerations. * May require travel to resolve claims, attend training, and conduct in-person inspections. * Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. POSITION SUMMARY Claim Recovery Agents are responsible for reviewing information provided on a damage, determining the liable party, invoicing the responsible party, and pursuing recovery of the repair costs. Duties • Review and analyze claim information, identify liable party, and take action to move claims toward successful resolution, • Gather costing and prepare invoices for select clients, • Correspond with liable party/insurance carrier both verbally and in writing, • Negotiate settlements, • Strong computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, • Ability to work independently, manage goals and deadlines, have good attention to detail, • Adaptability, logical thinking and conscientiousness, • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), • Strong conflict resolution and negotiation skills, • Uncapped Compensation Potential: Top Performers who excel at the role have the ability to earn an annual compensation of more than $100,000

Requirements:, • Requires a high school diploma; advanced education beyond high school preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience., • Previous experience as a claims adjuster or must complete Capstone specified adjuster training if no experience., • If previous adjuster experience, working knowledge of Xactimate is preferred., • Must be licensed, or have the ability to obtain license(s), as required by state and local jurisdictions to adjust insurance claims., • Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced environment managing multiple tasks., • Ability to provide excellent service to policyholders and clients., • Ability to efficiently operate a computer and related claims and business software., • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills necessary to make decisions and resolve conflict, • Good verbal and written communication skills., • Good attention to detail., • Strong analytical and mathematical ability., • Ability to work independently in a virtual environment when required.
