Summary: New York Edge is looking for a Community School Assistant Director to assist with establishing a high and visible presence within the school building supporting the Community School Director in assuming a strong leadership role and holistic approach toward improving academic performances driven by strong, collaborative partnerships among principals, parents, teachers, and CBO’s throughout the school year. The Community Schools Assistant Director will assist in the overall administration and implementation of the Community Schools program under the supervision of the Community School Director including but not limited to: trainings, theme based projects, scheduling of activities, daily supervision of staff, record keeping and reporting, communicating with parents and organizing special events. The Assistant Director will work with the Community School Director in ensuring all components of the contract are being implemented in alignment with the vision of New York Edge and the Principal. New York Edge Assistant Director must embrace positive school climate and youth development principles and practices that supports the community school as a whole. Under the general supervision of the Divisional Vice is responsible for the oversight of the administrative and clinical aspects of the program. Responsible for personnel management, fiscal operations, inventory management, client services, safety and welfare of staff and clients, hiring and training of personnel, directing and coordinating the activities of the staff, and general administration of the program. Establishes clinical procedures and policies for clients and ensures that program operations meet or exceed agency and regulatory guidelines.
