SQPA Beacon Community Center is a school-based community center serving middle school aged children. We are located at the Richard S. Grossley Campus, New Prep Middle School. Our programs are structured like clubs wherein the model offers youth choice in how they spend their time; provides rigorous instruction in sports, arts and youth leadership. NYC becomes the classroom by offering learning opportunities beyond school walls. Group Leader PrimaryResponsibilities • Supervise students and ensure a safe, positive environment., • Support instruction in ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies., • Assist with physical education, visual arts, and performing arts., • Promote collaboration through group activities and research projects., • Escort students between activities in a timely, orderly manner., • Support certified staff with lesson planning and classroom prep., • Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents., • Maintain accurate records of attendance, activities, and incidents., • Attend required trainings, meetings, and program evaluations., • Perform other duties as assigned by the Site Program Director(s).
