Job DescriptionDescription: Center for Hope and Safety, located in Bergen County NJ, is a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting victims of domestic violence and their children. We believe every person has the right to be safe, empowered and free from violence. In this role working Monday to Friday, 10 am to 6 pm (3 days) and 12 pm to 8 pm (2 days) and some Saturdays as needed, you will be provide case management to clients of the Rapid Rehousing and Transitional Housing programs. Responsibilities: • Complete psychosocial intake with new clients, work with clients to establish goal plans and monitor goals., • Provide de-escalation to clients during crisis and provide on-call crisis support as needed to the clients and team., • Work with clients one-on-one to provide coaching in the areas of independent living/self-sufficiency skills including but not limited to: budgeting, financial planning, shopping, meal planning, personal organization, etc. Facilitate or co-facilitate groups with supervisor or other team members., • Meet with residents weekly and/or bi-weekly in-person, in the community or office, via Zoom or phone, as deemed appropriate by the needs of the clients and approval of supervisor., • Perform advocacy work as needed (i.e. legal, police, medical, etc.) in correlation with the prescribed goal plan. Encourage clients to sign up for services available in the community such as Housing Authority, Emergency Welfare, etc. Responsible for becoming knowledgeable about laws relating to domestic violence, restraining orders and police procedures., • Accompany clients to court, welfare, and/or apartment search field visits as needed., • Make referrals to community service agencies as appropriate. Provide outreach activities in the community to assist the supervisor or director as needed, • Prepare daily, monthly, quarterly and biannual reports and statistics as required. Input all data entry in a timely fashion into Apricot or other required database., • Communicate with supervisor weekly. Attend staff meetings. Participate in supervisory meetings., • Participate in in-house or community trainings including working toward development of cultural competency skills and sensitivity to the needs of individuals with diverse cultural needs. Attend initial evening 40 hour domestic violence training provided by Center for Hope and Safety., • Coordinate and assist with all donations and disbursement of donations on a weekly basis, and during high volume holiday donations and activities., • Responsible to contact an agency Supervisor, or Director of Programs for guidance and approvals whenever necessary., • May work weekends and some evenings as per the program needs., • All other duties as assigned or requested.Requirements:, • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services required, • Minimum four (4) year of professional experience in case management or a related field required, • Must be a motivated self-starter capable of working independently, • Strong initiative, good communication skills essential, • Bilingual English, Spanish a must, • Must have a car and valid driver’s license, • Must be able to Monday to Friday from 10 am to 6 pm (3 days) and 12 pm to 8 pm (2 days), along with some Saturdays as needed.
