Job Description VP Risk Management Hybrid - Once a month in the office Local candidates to NYC or Dallas will be considered The Vice President of Risk Management serves as the senior leader responsible for protecting the company’s people, assets, and reputation. This role oversees the development and execution of an enterprise-wide risk management framework addressing operational, safety, financial, compliance, and reputational risks across a diverse portfolio of venues and live events. The VP acts as a strategic advisor to executive leadership and the Board, ensuring the organization is resilient and prepared for both anticipated and emerging risks. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Leadership • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management strategy aligned with business objectives and operational standards., • Partner with executive and regional leaders to embed risk awareness into planning and decision-making., • Oversee risk assessments for venues and live events, including concerts, festivals, and large-scale productions., • Partner with internal security teams to ensure effective crowd management, security, and emergency response protocols., • Design and manage global insurance programs covering liability, event cancellation, property, and workers’ compensation., • Negotiate terms and coverage with brokers and underwriters., • Lead the claims management process, ensuring timely reporting, documentation, and resolution., • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international regulations impacting event operations., • Maintain and enhance the enterprise risk management (ERM) framework. Manages a team of risk and safety professionals, including hiring, training, performance management, and professional development. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Safety Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred)., • Professional certifications such as ARM, CRM, FRM, CPCU, or CEM strongly preferred., • Minimum 15 years of progressive risk management leadership, including 5+ years in live events, sports, or entertainment., • Strong understanding of crowd safety, event operations, and global compliance requirements., • Excellent negotiation and communication skills., • Ability to make sound, data-driven decisions under pressure.
