We are actively recruiting a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or a Physician Assistant (PA)for the Department of Neurosurgery at UHS Wilson Medical Center. The candidate will join a team of 5 Neurosurgeons and 7APPs. TheHospital is a Level II trauma center and Comprehensive Stroke Center with 450 beds. The practice is a high functioning practice performing 1,200 + cases/year with excellent hospital support and a wide referral network spanning a 120 mile radius.Recruitment is based on program growth and additional Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant needs. Shift is Monday Friday Days with rotating weekends/holiday coverage, and can be flexible to meet candidates needs. Seeking both experienced or new, motivated graduates. This position provides health care services to patients under the direction and responsibility of a physician. Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and compiles patient medical data, including health history and results of physical examination. Administers and orders diagnostic test and interprets the test results for deviations from normal. Performs therapeutic procedures, such as injections, suturing and wound care,and managing infection. Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care. Instructs and counsels patients regarding compliance with prescribed therapeutic regimens and health maintenance. Preference for previous Neurosurgery or Spine Surgery experience. Preferred credentials are ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support). Will provide courses upon employment. Our Neurosurgeons provide comprehensive neurosurgery, including complex adult spine and cranial neurosurgery.Actively supported by neuro-endovascular, pain management/non-operative spine, neuro critical care, and neuro-radiology services. Qualifications This position requires a strong background in neurology/stroke, interventional radiology, or neurosurgery, along with excellent clinical and critical-thinking skills; new graduates interested will be strongly considered The ideal candidate will preferably have at least two years of experience, neurology, neurosurgery, or stroke-related experience and should be able to thrive in a fast-paced and challenging environment, delivering high-quality care to patients Master's degree in Nursing or a relevant field from an accredited program Current, unrestricted Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) license and certification Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in neurology, interventional radiology, or neurosurgery Strong knowledge or interest in neurovascular diseases, interventions, and procedures Exceptional clinical and critical-thinking skills Effective communication and interpersonal abilities for collaborating with the healthcare team and educating patients Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Proficiency in utilizing electronic medical record systems and other healthcare technology Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of advancements in neurointerventional care Salary Range: $138,200 - $161,200 annually Responsibilities As an APP, you will play a crucial role in the comprehensive care of patients with neurovascular conditions, working closely with the neurointerventional and stroke team Patient Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough neurovascular assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests Formulate accurate diagnoses and develop appropriate treatment plans for patients with neurovascular conditions, such as strokes, aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs), and vascular stenosis Perform outpatient clinic visits on new, existing, and post-procedure patients to coordinate their care in coordination with an Attending physician. Treatment Planning and Implementation: Collaborate with the neurointerventional team to develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, imaging results, and patient preferences Patient Management and Follow-Up: Monitor and manage patients' post-procedure, assessing their response to treatment, identifying complications, and initiating appropriate interventions Evaluate and manage potential neurological complications, such as vasospasms, hemorrhages, and infections Provide patient education on post-procedure care, medications, lifestyle modifications, and follow-up requirements Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicians, interventional radiologists, neurosurgeons, anesthesiologists, and critical care nurses, to ensure comprehensive patient care Participate actively in multidisciplinary conferences and contribute to treatment planning discussions Provide consultation and guidance to nursing staff, residents, and other healthcare professionals regarding neurovascular care Participate in research initiatives and quality improvement projects to advance neurointerventional care and enhance patient outcomes Collect and analyze data, participate in data-driven discussions, and contribute to academic publications and presentations

UHS is growing and we are seeking a full time Day/Night Rotating Shifts- Physician Assistant (PA) in our Trauma Department to help with our expansion in the Trauma APP services to 24/7. This position will train for approximately six (6) months 12 hour shifts- working seven (7) days every two (2) weeks. The position will work at our Wilson Medical Center. We are seeking either experienced or newly graduated PAs, or motivated or experienced critical care or surgical nurse practitioners with RNFA certification candidates in our Trauma Center. The Trauma Advanced Practice Provider (Trauma APP) coordinates clinical management of trauma patients throughout the continuum of care in collaboration with the attending trauma surgeon. The Trauma APP collaborates with the entire interdisciplinary trauma team ensuring continuity of high-quality care, family support, implementation of best practices and timely provision of clinical services. Minimum requirements: Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program; current NYS license; BLS for Healthcare Provider, ACLS and PALS Provider; ATLS certification (within 6 months of hire); Demonstration of clinical decision-making skills. Ability to effectively communicate with medical staff, healthcare clinicians, patients, families and the public; Strong computer skills; Ability to establish priorities and complete activities independently or with limited supervision. Position Summary: To perform respiratory therapy treatment modalities in all treatment areas including the Intensive Care Unit. To furnish assistance during cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Treat and monitor all ventilator cases. Demonstrate knowledge or principles of growth and development and the skills necessary to provide respiratory care for patients of all age groups. Take charge responsibility and act as the physician’s assistant for bronchoscopies performed by the pulmonary and surgery physicians upon completion of both of those respective competencies. Education, License & Cert: The Respiratory Therapist must be recognized by the National Board for Respiratory Care as a, Registered Respiratory Therapist or a Certified Respiratory Therapist and should possess a minimum of an A.S. or an A.A.S. degree from a COARC accredited program.
