Job Description PRIMARY FUNCTION/PURPOSE: The core responsibility of the Residential Aide (RA) includes the continued assurance of support and care to clients residing in the shelter. Job Description As a Client Services Representative (CSR) at the Animal Medical Center, duties will include but may not be limited to keeping accurate medical records, clerical work, client education, and support of the Director of Clinical Services, Client Services Managers, and other team members. Key Responsibilities: • Function as a liaison between the residents and the staff, • Collaborate with the security staff during his/her tour of duty to ensure the safety and well-being of the residents, • Perform hourly patrols through the facility, • Manage any challenging situations and crises that may occur at the facility, • Responsible for handling any incidents that may arise in the facility and completing an Incident Report form as needed, • Communicate noteworthy events to the Program Director and the Clinical team, as well as document them in the appropriate logbook, • Attend all mandatory staff meetings, • Ensure all aspects of the Fire Alarm System (FAS) are working properly and are up to code with the FDNY, • Visually inspect and document all components of the FAS, • High School diploma or GED, some college preferred, • Fire Safety certification is preferred (F-02 or F-80), • At least two years of experience working in a social service, residential setting, • The ideal candidate must have a working knowledge of HIV/AIDS, substance abuse, mental illness, and homelessness, • Ability to work independently, • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, • Excellent oral and written communication skills Submit your application for review. What is An Educational Specialist? The Education Specialist’s primary concern is the improvement of learning opportunities for students attending New York Edge Summer School Program. The Educational Specialist is an on-site instructional leader who works in close collaboration with the Education Department and the Site Director to support front-line staff in the delivery of skill-based curricula and thematic projects. Their role is to support program instructional/enrichment goals by ensuring activities are structured, age-appropriate, aligned to school day instructional practices and model effective classroom management (as needed). What will you do: * Provides oversight of curricula implementation to support summer day instruction * Assesses the effectiveness and success of the approved curriculum and recommends changes based on student work. * Observes and provides feedback to activity specialists, teachers and summer day camp counselors on a daily basis providing advice and modeling lessons as needed.
