Essential Job Summary:: The On-Road Technician / Installer is a mobile field service role responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing compactors, containers, and related waste handling equipment at customer sites. This role involves working independently in the field, managing installations, troubleshooting issues, interfacing with customers, and ensuring safe, efficient setup and operation of equipment. This position requires mechanical, hydraulic, and light electrical knowledge, with a strong emphasis on safety, organization, and professionalism. Description We are seeking a Lead Transmission Line Engineer who will manage a collaborative and dynamic team working in a fast-paced environment, solving challenging problems involved with electric transmission. The successful candidate will serve as a Lead Engineer and Technical Project Manager on high voltage electric transmission line design projects of overhead and underground systems for some of the largest utilities in the country as well as regional utilities. The candidate will apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, NEC, and other applicable standards in the engineering and design of all types of capital and maintenance projects from 34.5 kV to 765 kV. Additionally, the candidate will direct a team of engineers that regularly perform engineering analyses, PLS-CADD modeling, structure loading calculations, foundation design using MFAD and/or LPILE, design structure framing and hardware assemblies, draft plans and specifications, and prepare bill of materials and procurement documents across project planning, engineering, environmental, permitting, and construction management phases. Additionally, the Assistant Director will participate in the 24/7 year-round direct supervision of on-call staff which may include but not limited to consultation, crisis intervention and in-person response to support SVR direct services. This position is within a unit that specializes in, among other things, embezzlement and fraud involving the procurement of City contracts. The AIG will be required to play a lead investigatory role on complex investigations involving significant financial analysis and document review. Position Summary Under the leadership of the Director of Sexual Violence Response Direct Services, the Survivor Advocate will provide confidential and comprehensive survivor-focused services, resources and trauma-informed care to survivors of gender and power-based violence. This will include direct crisis intervention, crisis counseling, advocacy and support services; including explaining and exploring survivor's rights and options, in accordance with federal, state and local laws and regulations (civil and criminal), and campus policies. The incumbent will serve as a general resource, advocate and referral agent for students seeking sexual assault, intimate partner violence and stalking information and services. Additionally, the Survivor Advocate will provide round-the-clock, on-call crisis support year-round in a shared rotation amongst the direct services team and coordinate campus and community resources to support students who have experienced sexual assault, intimate partner violence and related abuse. Human rights law and advocacy have been central to international politics since the end of World War II. However, recent rises in authoritarianism and anti-liberal regimes have raised new questions on whether the human rights framework is still capable of addressing injustices in the modern world. This course introduces students to the law and practice of human rights as well as the challenges of enforcing rights in an international environment that has grown increasingly hostile to principles of human dignity and personal freedom. Students review the philosophical foundations of human rights and then examine human rights from two perspectives. First, the legal perspective introduces them to basic principles and rules of international law and the main international organizations and mechanisms designed for promoting and enforcing human rights. Second, they adopt the role of social scientist. We debate evidence on the effectiveness of human rights law and discuss challenges of enforcing rights in an international system in which states are not accountable to a higher authority. Students apply their new knowledge to the problems facing human rights today. Topics may include cultural relativist critiques of human rights as a Western, neo-colonialist institution, challenges from new technologies in state surveillance and autonomous weapons, and existential threats to human populations through climate change and environmental damage. The course includes asynchronous work, which students are expected to complete between class sessions.
