Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. We perform commercial structural restoration and waterproofing projects throughout New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Our work includes concrete repair, masonry restoration, waterproofing, façade repairs, parking garage restoration, and related structural and building-envelope improvements. Primary Responsibilities • Review construction drawings, specifications, addenda, bid forms, contracts, and other project documents., • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs., • Develop complete estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, access, mobilization, supervision, and other project costs., • Establish realistic labor production rates and calculate the labor hours required to complete the work., • Solicit and evaluate material, equipment, supplier, and subcontractor pricing., • Attend pre-bid meetings and visit project sites to verify quantities, access conditions, logistics, and potential risks., • Prepare clear, complete, and accurate bid proposals for private and public projects., • Manage multiple estimates at different stages of completion., • Estimate projects valued up to at least $3 million, with the ability to handle opportunities approaching or exceeding $10 million., • Present completed estimates to company leadership for review and approval., • Prepare a detailed post-award handoff for the assigned project manager., • Assist the project management team with change-order estimates, material ordering, budget questions, and other issues connected to the original estimate., • Maintain organized estimating files, pricing information, proposal records, and historical cost data. Required Qualifications • At least five (5) years of commercial construction estimating experience., • Demonstrated ability to independently prepare complete construction estimates., • Experience estimating projects involving self-performed labor., • Strong understanding of labor production rates, labor hours, material costs, equipment costs, subcontractor pricing, and project overhead., • Experience preparing estimates for projects valued at $3 million+., • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, details, bid forms, and contract documents., • Excellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skills., • Thorough and detail-oriented approach to estimating., • Ability to manage multiple bid deadlines without sacrificing accuracy., • Strong written and verbal communication skills., • Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to project sites and pre-bid meetings., • Ability to work full-time in our Roselle, New Jersey office. Preferred Qualifications • Direct estimating experience in concrete repair, masonry restoration, waterproofing, façade restoration, parking garages, or structural repair., • Experience bidding both private and public construction projects., • Familiarity with public bidding requirements, prevailing-wage work, bid bonds, performance and payment bonds, alternates, unit prices, and public bid forms., • Experience working on projects in New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania., • Relevant experience in commercial concrete, waterproofing, façades, roofing, structural repair, general contracting, or similar construction specialties will also be considered. Compensation within the advertised range will depend on the candidate’s experience and how closely that experience aligns with our work.
