What You’ll Do • Assist veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians with patient care, examinations, treatments, and clinical workflow within the appropriate scope of the Veterinary Assistant role., • Safely handle and restrain dogs, cats, and exotic patients using compassionate, low-stress techniques., • Prepare examination rooms, treatment areas, surgical spaces, equipment, and supplies for daily appointments and procedures., • Support surgery and dentistry workflows through patient preparation, room setup, instrument preparation, cleaning, and recovery assistance under the direction of the veterinarian or LVT., • Clean, disinfect, package, and sterilize instruments and maintain organized treatment and procedure areas., • Help maintain accurate patient information and communicate relevant observations promptly to the clinical team., • Anticipate the needs of veterinarians, LVTs, patients, and teammates throughout the workday., • Assist with inventory organization, restocking, laboratory preparation, and general hospital readiness., • Follow established hospital protocols, checklists, safety standards, and patient-care procedures., • Contribute to a culture of accountability, teamwork, respectful communication, and continuous improvement., • Help maintain a clean, calm, organized, and welcoming environment for patients, clients, and team members. What We Offer • Competitive compensation based on experience, • A predictable weekday schedule with no weekends, • Paid time off and paid holidays, • 401(k) retirement plan with a 100% employer match on employee contributions up to 4% of compensation, subject to plan eligibility requirements, • Eligibility for discretionary employer profit-sharing contributions, subject to plan terms, • Continuing education and professional-development support, • Employee pet care discount, • Opportunities to strengthen clinical skills and gain experience with dogs, cats, and exotic patients, • A meaningful role within a growing, independently owned veterinary hospital Who We’re Looking For • Previous professional experience working as a Veterinary Assistant in a veterinary hospital or clinical setting is strongly preferred., • Confident animal-handling and restraint skills with dogs and cats are required., • Experience supporting surgery, dentistry, hospitalization, laboratory work, or patient recovery is strongly preferred., • Experience or interest in working with exotic patients—including avian patients, companion mammals, and reptiles—is preferred but not required., • Dependable and punctual, with a demonstrated ability to arrive prepared and complete assigned responsibilities., • Able to remain organized, attentive, and composed in a busy clinical environment., • Takes initiative, accepts direction and feedback, and follows through without requiring constant supervision., • Communicates professionally and works cooperatively with veterinarians, LVTs, assistants, client-service representatives, and hospital leadership., • Willing to support the entire hospital team and assist wherever reasonably needed., • Experience with Vetspire practice-management software is preferred but not required.
