Job Description BronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. RESPONSIBILITIES • Greet customers to create a pleasant atmosphere, • Identify and determine if clients are eligible to receive our services, • Determine that the client has all of the necessary information to complete the return (i.e., Forms W-2, 1099, social security cards and picture ID), • Have clients sign the Check-in log., • Provide the client with the Intake Sheet to complete and assist the client if needed, • Perform the screening process:, • Determine the type of assistance needed by the client and direct clients to tax preparers and to other services provided at site according to the client’s needs., • Monitor Site customer traffic and coordinate with the site manager to ensure that there is sufficient time to serve the client, • Set up client’s folders., • Maintain the confidentiality of the client information., • Provide general assistance to clients., • Assist in other administrative duties, including file maintenance and answering phone calls. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS • Ability to use a computer for prolonged periods., • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds., • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of time, or climb five flights of stairs, if required to conduct home visits and/or fieldwork., • Ability to bend and retrieve objects and/or documents., • Ability to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportation., • Ability to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field work.
