Job Description Reports to: IT Director, Assistant Director, Executive Director Locations: Crime Victims Center (CVC) in Nassau and Suffolk Position Summary The IT Technician supports the daily technology needs of CVC staff by providing responsive, high‐quality assistance with hardware, software, and network issues across all agency locations. This role ensures staff can work efficiently and securely while maintaining compliance with agency technology standards. Under the supervision of the IT Director, the IT Technician will also receive structured training in programming and system customization to support CVC’s website, internal applications, and the NetSuite client management system. Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Troubleshooting • Provide timely, professional support for staff experiencing hardware, software, connectivity, and peripheral issues., • Diagnose and resolve problems involving laptops, desktops, printers, mobile devices, and agency‐approved applications., • Set up, configure, and maintain workstations, user accounts, and security permissions in accordance with agency protocols., • Assist with routine maintenance, updates, and system monitoring to ensure optimal performance and security., • Document all support requests, resolutions, and follow‐up actions in the agency’s IT ticketing system. Systems & Application Support • Support staff in the use of Microsoft 365, NetSuite, Zoom, and other agency platforms., • Assist with onboarding and offboarding processes, including equipment preparation and account provisioning., • Maintain inventory of IT equipment, software licenses, and technology assets. Programming & Development (Training Provided) • Learn foundational programming skills to support internal technology needs., • Assist the IT Director in updating and maintaining the CVC website., • Support customization, workflows, and data integrity within the NetSuite client management system., • Follow all CVC cybersecurity, confidentiality, and data‐protection protocols., • Support implementation of security updates, multi‐factor authentication, and access controls., • Report potential vulnerabilities or incidents immediately to the IT Director. Qualifications Required • Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent technical experience., • Strong troubleshooting skills with Windows and/or macOS environments., • Ability to communicate clearly and patiently with staff of all technical skill levels., • Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and trauma‐informed workplace practices., • Ability to learn new systems and programming concepts with guidance. Preferred • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration, NetSuite, or CRM systems., • Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or similar languages (or willingness to learn)., • Experience in a nonprofit, human services, or multi‐site environment.
