Position Overview We are seeking a friendly and professional Server to join our dynamic team in providing exceptional dining experiences. Previous experience in food service, fine dining, or hospitality is preferred. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction from start to finish. As a Server, your primary responsibility is to provide outstanding service by anticipating guest needs, offering recommendations, and fostering an enjoyable and inviting environment. Duties/ Responsibilities • Warmly greet guests and present menus with enthusiasm to create a welcoming atmosphere., • Accurately take food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS., • Recommend and upsell menu items and specials to enhance the dining experience and boost sales., • Serve food and beverages promptly, ensuring high standards of presentation and sanitation., • Assist with food preparation and maintain cleanliness in the service area., • Build strong guest relations by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring overall satisfaction., • Process payments efficiently using cash handling through POS systems., • Clear and reset tables quickly while adhering to health and sanitation standards., • Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and the host/hostess team to ensure seamless service operations., • Stay knowledgeable about menu offerings, ingredients, and dietary accommodations to assist guests confidently. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree in Hospitality, Culinary Arts, or Business preferred., • Experience in airport-based or unionized food service operations is a plus., • ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain within 30 days of hire., • Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or hospitality industry preferred; fine dining experience is a plus, • Familiarity with POS systems such as TOAST, or similar platforms., • Strong customer service skills with a focus on guest relations and satisfaction., • Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy. hours, • Ability to upsell menu items confidently and effectively contribute to sales goals, • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper food handling procedures, • Basic math skills for cashiering, billing, and cash handling tasks ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS: • Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week., • Stand and walk for extended periods (8–10 hours per shift)., • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly., • Ability to work in both hot and cold environments., • Comfortable working in a high-traffic, fast-paced airport setting.     We are currently offering a Postdoctoral Research/Clinical fellowship focused on Trauma Psychology in Manhattan and Manhasset, NY. The fellowship is supported by the faculty of Northwell’s Center for Traumatic Stress, Resilience and Recovery (CTSRR), Directed by Dr. Mayer Bellehsen and Dr. Rebecca Schwartz. The fellowship will allow for robust training experiences focused on the intersection between trauma and mental health in both clinical and research capacities. Research activities will be under the supervision of Dr. Rebecca Schwartz and clinical placement will be under the supervision of Dr. Vien Cheung. The Fellow will receive the following opportunities: • Mentoring around developing a program of research that facilitates productivity in the publication of manuscripts, presentation of abstracts, and submission of grant applications., • Training in the conduct of trauma-related mental health research as it pertains to various populations with a primary focus on occupational stress and healthcare work. There will be opportunity to work with large databases containing well-being and mental health data. Additional potential research cohorts include Veterans and 9/11 World Trade Center responders., • Supervision and didactics in evidenced based trauma treatments, such as Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy, and a didactic series focused on assessing, treating, and researching trauma., • Clinical training in the diagnostic assessment and treatment of trauma and PTSD among both health care workers and community members who have experienced traumatic stressors. This fellow will also be trained in resilience building interventions. Clinical placement will be at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan. Qualifications: • Candidates must have completed their doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology and should be license eligible for the New York State Limited Permit in Psychology., • Ideal candidates will have attended an American Psychological Association (APA) approved graduate program and internship.
