Precision Technologies, Inc. – Mountainside, NJ Job Description PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING: • MINIMUM 5 YEARS SET-UP EXPERIENCE - CNC MILLING or TURNING SET-UP EXPERIENCE REQUIRED, • FULL TIME : FIRST SHIFT, SECOND SHIFT, THIRD SHIFT, WEEKEND SHIFTS AVAILABLE, • ALL HAAS CNC MACHINES and Kitamura, • STRONG WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF SET-UP TECHNIQUES FOR PRODUCTION AND PROTOTYPE., • STRONG WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF CNC PROGRAMMING AND EDITING WITH G & M CODES OR PROGRAMMING SOFTWARE., • ABILITY TO SET-UP & OPERATE USING VICES OR SIMILAR TOOLING HARDWARE AND FIXTURES., • MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE INSPECTING PARTS AND READING MICROMETER , CALIPER, HEIGHT GAGE AND DIAL INDICATOR, • BLUEPRINT READING A MUST. Responsibilities • Performs SET UP, PROGRAM TEST, FIRST PIECE "PROVE-OUT" RUN, in-process inspections, and CNC of precision-machined parts., • Works with production and engineering teams to address and resolve production issues in CNC Milling., • Responsible for selecting correct tooling hardware and measurement equipment., • Responsible for ensuring that the machines are well maintained ., • Working in accordance with ISO requirements., • Education: High school diploma or GED., • Experience: Minimum 5 years CNC Machining / Milling experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment., • Measurement and inspection skills a must., • Strong knowledge of Blueprint reading with GD&T required., • Must have a strong aptitude in mechanical blueprints and drawings, • Must have a working knowledge of CAD systems., • Must be very detail oriented., • Strong math skills., • Ability to follow process plans, routers and inspection plans., • Has a strong background with workplace safety, OSHA regulations., • Must be able to effectively communicate with employees of varying education levels., • Comfortable working with very tight , "tenths" tolerances., • Must be experienced in measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gage, dial indicators. 1.0 JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY 1.1 This position establishes the authority, reporting relationships, tasks and duties with performance standards for the CNC Specialist. 2.0 JOB TITLE 2.1 CNC Specialist 3.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS 3.1 The CNC Specialist reports to the CNC Manager. 4.0 REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Education Required: High School diploma or GED. Preferred: Vocational School Certificate / Associates degree in Mechanical, MFG, IND Engineering technology. 4.2 Licensing, Registration, and certification Required: None. Preferred: None. 4.3 Experience Required: A minimum of one year experience in CNC or tooling production. 4.4 Skills, Knowledge, Abilities 4.4.1 Must have strong math skills. 4.4.2 Ability to read and understand engineering drawings. 4.4.3 Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees of varying education levels. 4.5 Physical Requirements 4.5 The physical requirements are stressful with the majority of time spent standing working with machinery. This position requires manual dexterity of the hands and the normal bending and twisting associated with plant operations. Walking, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending, stooping, kneeling and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers and the ability to lift at least forty (40) pounds. Must be able to work in areas with moderate to high noise levels. Must be able to constantly kneel, squat, climb and have full bending abilities at the waist (touch the toes). The body senses of sight (not color blind), hearing (safety) is required. Good vision to read diagrams and business documents. Must be able to wear safety glasses and hearing protection for prolong periods of time. 4.6 Mental: Basic math skills, mechanical engineering understanding, blueprint reading, as well as reading, writing and spelling and the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English. 5.0 WORKING CONDITIONS 5.1 The majority of the time (95%) will be spent in a non-smoking plant environment. Temperatures will remain consistent throughout the year. Noise levels will be high in the plant area and moderate in the office area. Work hours will be dependant upon the weekly production and shipping schedules. Work hours may be long when specific projects are due, therefore, some extended schedules will be necessary. 6.0 TASKS AND DUTIES 6.1 Responsible for the proper operation of the machines. 6.2 Responsible for performing the daily machine set up process – clean the machine, complete the set up the machine for the first job. 6.3 Responsible for producing high quality finished products in accordance with the customer’s requirements. 6.4 Responsible for completing the job within the allotted job budget dollars. 6.5 Completes the bead blasting process when necessary. 6.6 Responsible for the proper operation and maintenance of the machines. Ensures the machine is maintained on a preventative basis. 6.7 Responsible for the machine programming functions. 6.8 Responsible for performing a quality control check on all jobs. 6.9 Responsible for setting up the machines for optimized speed and performance. 6.10 Responsible for completing the work in a safe manner. 6.11 Responsible for ensuring the shop area is clean and organized. 6.12 Responsible for accurately recording the time spent against the appropriate job. 6.13 Responsible for completing the work in accordance with ISO 9000 standards. 6.14 Responsible for working closely with the Manager with the development and implementation of the agreed upon training plan and schedule. 6.15 Ensures personal adherence to the company policies and practices. 6.16 Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the Manager. 7.0 MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE 7.1 Ability to produce each job in accordance with the customer’s requirements. 7.2 Ability to produce each job in accordance with the allotted number of production hours and optimize. 7.3 Ability to set-up as per the plot/print/router/set-up sheets in a timely manner. 7.4 Ability to edit programs (G & Mo codes and/or Mastercam) for efficient and practical parts production. 7.5 Ability to transmit program from database to local PC and to machines. 7.6 Ability to account and record the hours spent per job. 7.7 Consistently maintains the work area in a clean, organized and professional manner – ie: clean floors, machines, tools secured, etc. 7.8 Ability to work with minimal supervision. 7.9 Ability to service and maintain the machines to eliminate/minimize machine downtime 7.10 Ability to adhere to the company’s policies and procedures. 7.11 Has demonstrated a working knowledge level of the standard operating procedures as defined by ISO 9000. 7.12 Ability to work within the company’s safety practices and procedures. 7.13 Ability to complete the assigned training schedule.
