Job Description Property Management Facilities Mechanic Location: Islandia, NY Job Type: Full-Time, Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM (occasional emergency after-hours service calls) We are a commercial real estate investment, development, and property management company focused on light industrial and retail properties. Position Overview * We are seeking a Property Management Facilities Mechanic to join our Facilities Team. This role is responsible for hands-on property maintenance, repairs, and construction across our portfolio, ensuring our buildings remain safe, functional, and professional in appearance. * The ideal candidate has strong commercial construction and "handyman" expertise and is comfortable working on active construction sites as well as performing sensitive repairs in occupied tenant spaces. Professionalism, cleanliness, teamwork, and strong tenant communication are essential. Key Responsibilities * Property Maintenance & Repairs * Perform common area repairs and routine maintenance * Complete commercial-grade carpentry, painting, flooring, ceiling work, demolition, and light electrical/plumbing * Conduct maintenance inspections and proactively identify repair needs * Maintain clean, organized job sites * Tenant Service * Respond promptly and professionally to tenant service requests * Perform repairs in occupied spaces with minimal disruption * Communicate clearly and represent company professionally * Construction & Turnovers * Execute suite turnovers ("make readies") including demo, build-back, and finish work * Assist with small capital projects and coordinate with trades on site * Work safely and effectively in active construction environments * Operational Support * Coordinate with vendors as needed * Maintain tools and materials * Follow safety procedures and applicable codes Qualifications Required * 5+ years of commercial construction, facilities, or property management experience * Strong working knowledge of carpentry, painting, flooring, ceilings, demolition, and light electrical/plumbing * Ability to work independently across multiple properties * Experience in both active construction and occupied environments * Professional appearance and strong cleanliness standards * Valid driver's license Preferred * Experience with light industrial and retail properties * OSHA certification * Ability to read basic construction drawings * Physical Requirements * Ability to lift 50+ lbs * Ability to climb ladders and work at heights * Ability to perform physical labor throughout the day Compensation & Benefits Salary: very competitve based on experince * Full employee medical coverage * Life Insurance option * Competitive vacation and sick time * 401(k) with company match * Company work vehicle will be provided, including allowance for fuel / expenses Company DescriptionW3Global was established in 2006 in Fremont, CA with a vision: simplify the recruiting process and develop an industry-disrupting platform to connect candidates with clients.
