The RN will conduct nursing assessments, administer medications and treatments, develop and implement nursing care plans, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams. \n The position requires strong clinical judgment, accurate documentation, effective communication, and the ability to provide safe and compliant nursing care in a structured correctional facility setting. \n Key Responsibilities \n \n • Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and obtain, record, and update individuals' health information and vital signs using standard nursing instruments and procedures.\n, • Prepare individuals for examinations and treatments and provide assistance as required.\n, • Administer medications and prescribed nursing treatments and procedures.\n, • Develop, implement, and modify individualized nursing care plans.\n, • Provide clinical supervision and instruction to direct-care staff regarding nursing-related care activities.\n, • Delegate appropriate nursing activities, skills, and procedures to qualified direct-care staff.\n, • Observe, monitor, and document individuals' symptoms, conditions, care, diet, and physical activity.\n, • Identify and report individuals' responses to medications and changes in health status.\n, • Serve as the nursing representative on treatment teams and provide information regarding individuals' nursing needs.\n, • Consult and coordinate with treatment teams and other healthcare disciplines to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.\n, • Conduct clinical rounds to assess nursing care needs and observe and evaluate the delivery of nursing services.\n, • Provide health teaching, counseling, and education to individuals, families, and other groups as appropriate.\n, • Support the development and implementation of health improvement programs.\n, • Implement infection-control protocols and procedures and provide related consultation and instruction to staff.\n, • Maintain and update medical charts, records, and other required documentation in accordance with agency, New York State, and federal requirements.\n, • Collect data and perform related activities to support medical research, when required.\n, • Monitor inventories and ensure medications, solutions, supplies, and equipment are maintained at appropriate standards to meet nursing-care needs.\n, • Assist with preparation of work schedules when required.\n, • Provide information to nurse supervisors and contribute to required reports and performance evaluations for staff involved in nursing-care activities. \n \n Required Qualifications \n \n • Registered Nurse (RN) with the appropriate professional credentials required to practice in New York State.\n, • Strong clinical assessment and nursing-care skills.\n, • Ability to administer medications and perform prescribed nursing procedures safely and accurately.\n, • Ability to develop and maintain comprehensive nursing care plans.\n, • Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.\n, • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, treatment teams, direct-care staff, and other healthcare professionals.\n, • Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.\n, • Ability to work effectively in a structured correctional healthcare environment. \n \n Work Schedule \n The facility operates three 8-hour shifts: \n \n • Day: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM\n, • Evening: 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM\n, • Night: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM \n \n Overtime is required, and the selected RN must be available to work NYS holidays as required by the facility. \n \n Referral Bonus: $250-$500 (each referral) Medical and other Benefits Apply Now!!!
