Job Description About the Role: The Medical Assistant Receptionist plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of healthcare facilities by serving as the first point of contact for patients and visitors. The Medical Assistant Receptionist also supports clinical staff by coordinating administrative tasks and assisting with basic medical procedures as needed. Responsibilities: • Greet and check in patients upon arrival, verifying personal and insurance information accurately., • Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems., • Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and direct calls to appropriate medical personnel., • Maintain and update patient records, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA., • Assist medical staff with administrative duties including preparing patient charts and managing correspondence., • Collect co-pays and process payments, providing receipts and managing billing inquiries., • Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies. The Medical Assistant Receptionist utilizes strong organizational skills daily to manage patient schedules and maintain accurate records, ensuring efficient clinic operations. Effective communication skills are essential for interacting with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance representatives, facilitating clear and compassionate exchanges. Proficiency in EHR systems and office software enables the receptionist to handle data entry, appointment management, and billing tasks accurately and efficiently. Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures supports the receptionist in understanding patient needs and assisting clinical staff appropriately. Additionally, problem-solving skills help address patient concerns and resolve scheduling conflicts, contributing to a positive patient experience. Minimum Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent., • Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, preferably in a receptionist or administrative role., • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare procedures., • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office)., • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent credential., • Experience with medical billing and coding., • Familiarity with insurance verification and authorization processes., • Bilingual abilities, especially in Spanish and English. full time Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm
