ABOUT THE ROLE: The Quality and Compliance Specialist assists in ensuring the delivery of quality services in keeping with OPWDD, and other state and federal regulations, throughout the agency. The Quality/Compliance Specialist plays a key role in ensuring implementation of recommended or required actions or processes through partnership with program staff. In addition to their compliance responsibilities, the specialist maintains communication with team members to foster a positive service environment and may participate in agency-wide committees. They are responsible for maintaining confidentiality and proper documentation in line with agency standards. The role requires strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills to effectively monitor and support compliance efforts across the department. Schedule/Hours • Full Time: 40 Hrs, • Must be able to work flexible schedules to include some Evening/Overnight/Weekend availability Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • A valid NYS driver's license and an acceptable driving record is required., • Must be willing and able to obtain and maintain certification in medication administration, SCIP-R, safe transfer and movement, and choking prevention. Colostomy care, diabetes/injection, and feeding tube certification may be required depending on assignment., • Must have or be willing and able to obtain certification to conduct investigations under New York Code of Rules and Regulations Part 624 guidelines., • Basic math skills to be able to reconcile bank accounts., • Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting individuals., • May require lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds., • Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Education Any combination of education and experience, which, in the judgment of the employer, equals the standards below. • High School Diploma or GED, • Minimum of three years' experience working in the human services field, preferably working at an OPWDD or OMH provider.
