Job DescriptionA day in the life You start from your home base, receive your first dispatch, and head to a customer site—maybe a gym, a laundromat, a hospital, or a motel in the Utica, NY area. You diagnose issues on professional-grade washers, dryers, and ironers, swap in the right parts, and verify performance. You capture accurate notes on work performed, time, materials, mileage, and fuel, then debrief the customer and coordinate next steps with our service manager, parts team, and vendors. Between calls, you keep your tools and company-supplied service vehicle in top condition and jump in to support installation crews when large projects demand an extra set of hands. Every visit is a chance to build trust. Your attitude, follow-through, and mechanical savvy help our customers succeed—and help our business grow. What you’ll do • Troubleshoot and repair commercial laundry equipment across On-Premises Laundry (OPL) and vended environments, • Install replacement components and verify safe, reliable operation, • Document all service activity with precision, including time and materials, • Record travel details thoroughly, including mileage and fuel purchases, • Communicate clearly with customers on findings, repairs, and recommendations, • Collaborate with the service manager, parts department, and vendors to ensure accurate outcomes, • Maintain tools, test equipment, and a company-supplied service vehicle, • Assist installation crews with equipment deliveries and installs, • Contribute to other tasks needed to keep the department running efficientlyWhat you’ll bring, • High school diploma or equivalent, • 2+ years of mechanical repair experience (laundry equipment experience is a plus but not required); equivalent education, training, and experience considered, • Hands-on experience with electrical testing tools and diagnostic/programming equipment, • Comfort supporting customers via phone and email/ticketing dispatch systems (preferred), • Computer proficiency, ideally with MS Outlook, Word, and Excel, • Ability to read schematics and electrical/mechanical drawings and to use multimeters, • Strong organization and attention to detail; able to self-manage multiple priorities and deadlines, • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication with a positive, professional demeanor, • Regular sitting, standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, stooping, bending, climbing, and manual dexterity, • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.; assistive devices provided for heavier items, • Frequent talking and hearing; hands-on manipulation of tools/controls; periods of computer-based work requiring close vision and the ability to adjust focus, • Valid driver’s license required; a company vehicle may be provided, • Company vehicle, • Medical, vision, and dental benefits, • 401(k) match up to 6 percent, • 3 weeks (120 hours) of vacation plus 11 paid holidays, • Alliance Laundry Cares Scholarships for eligible dependents, • Educational Assistance Program for job-related classes or degrees
