Job Description The Accounting Manager oversees the day-to-day accounting operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and compliance with regulatory an environmental requirements. This role plays a key part in cost accounting, inventory valuation, and supporting operational leadership with timely financial insights. · The Accounting Manager will support the operations by providing leadership for the business units; Finance, Accounting and Information Technology functions including oversight of AP, AR, GL, Payroll, Cost Accounting, Weekly Cash Flow Forecasting, and business planning and forecasting. · Will lead or implement financial policies and processes, controls and reporting systems, the internal and external audit processes ensuring compliance, and financial analysis, budgeting and planning and providing financial information to corporate/business unit management by researching and analyzing financial data, preparing reports. · As a key member of the senior leadership team, will participate in driving strategy development and implementation and foster a proactive orientation in the financial and IT areas, recommending and implementing solutions to company issues and ensuring priorities are aligned with strategic objectives and financial controls. Financial Accounting & Reporting o Manage general ledger activities, month-end and year-end close processes o Prepare and review financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) o Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies o Coordinate annual audits and serve as primary audit liaison o Maintain and forecast 13 week rolling cash flow projection Cost Accounting & Manufacturing Finance o Oversee job costing, work-in-process (WIP), and finished goods accounting o Analyze plating and coating process costs, including chemicals, labor, utilities, and waste treatment o Monitor variances between standard and actual costs and investigate root causes o Support pricing decisions and margin analysis for customer jobs o Utilize ERP system to support accurate product costing and operational decision-making. Inventory & Fixed Assets o Manage raw materials, chemicals, supplies, and finished goods inventory accounting o Oversee physical inventory counts and cycle counts o Maintain fixed asset records for production equipment, tanks, rectifiers, and facility improvements o Track depreciation and capital expenditure Accounts Payable / Receivable o AP and AR functions, including vendor payments and customer invoicing o Processes PO and Non-PO vendor invoices, confirms invoice prices are accurate, and initiates vendor payments. o Review credit limits, collections, and cash application o Ensure accurate sales tax reporting where applicable Compliance & Controls o Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax requirements o Support environmental and regulatory reporting from a financial perspective o Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets Leadership & Collaboration o Supervise and mentor accounting staff o Partner with operations, production, and purchasing teams o Provide financial analysis and reporting to management to support decision-making Payroll o Processes the biweekly payroll and keeps it accurate. o Confirm changes in pay, benefits, 401K choices and all other related payroll changes are properly recorded. o Fix errors in the Human Resources Information System as needed. Requirements o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field o Prefer 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing or industrial operations o Prior experience with cost accounting strongly preferred o Strong understanding of manufacturing accounting and inventory systems o Proficiency in ERP systems and advanced Excel skills o Knowledge of job costing and WIP accounting o Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities o Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial managers Compensation & Benefits o Salary up to $100K (commensurate w/ exp) o Bonus o Full benefits – Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability o PTO o 401K
